Over the weekend I had a once in a lifetime experience with a STRANGE spa treatment and it made me think more about the idea of “Choosing the Bigger Life” that I learned from author, Gretchen Rubin. I brought my Mom onto the podcast to talk about our international travel adventures as that’s how we “choose the bigger life.” We have trekked through the Czech Republic, Morocco, India, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Costa Rica. 47. Mid-Year Check-In 21 for 21

Guess what! I'm 40!! And I'm admitting it! Gasp! 😮😂 As my Birthday approached, I had several people ask me how old I was going to be and then were shocked that I was "admitting" to turning 40. Maybe I'm crazy here but I thought this was something we all did....ya know, get older. It's just sort of part of the game of life. After seeing those reactions from people, it got me thinking about how we age and how we change over the decades. I came to the conclusion that my 20's were pretty dang bumpy (not a decade I'd necessarily want to do over again) and my 30's were really where I started to come into my own. I found my footing, started really taking care of myself, have become more comfortable in my skin, figured out the woman I am and I'm creating the vision of the woman I ultimately want to be. All that being said, I'm feeling pretty freakin' fabulous about where I'm at as I turn 40...wrinkles and all.

It’s been a busy summer over here, from new jobs to running a business to raising an almost kindergartener, it’s easy to find things overwhelming, big and small, when juggling so many hats. I’m sure it’s been a busy summer for you too. In seasons of busyness it’s easy to point out things that aren’t working or dwell on things you might be lacking in your day to day life but I challenge you to shift your thinking from what went wrong to what went right, even for a minute. Help your future self out by doing that top rack of dishes or making healthy choices at the dinner table or even asking for help with tasks and those acts of goodness you’re making an effort to shower on yourself will start to add up. Force yourself to look for the good and you’ll start to see it without even trying.

12. The Grief Tool Box With Leighsa Montrose

This week my guest, Jennifer, created her company, Jordan’s Gems, after learning that her unborn baby (Jordan) had a heart defect and wouldn’t be able to be born alive. At that time, Jennifer had to wait out another month of pregnancy and she desperately needed something to help keep her mind off of what was happening in her body. She started making various handmade things to help her process through this journey and that creativity has brought Jennifer therapy and healing through a tragic time. Over the years this small company has blossomed and today has helped Jennifer and her family become debt free! 24. Join The Rock Your Life Challenge

I have read a lot about building habits or "habit stacking" and I understand the power in great habits. What I find just as powerful is the idea of "success stacking." It's the idea of creating small goals, pushing through with that goal to succeed, gaining the confidence from that success and then building on top of that. This can be applied to all aspects of life from moving our bodies in the "Rock Your Life" challenge to work related goals to relationship goals and beyond. I've heard from many of you doing the "Rock Your Life" challenge and it seems there are lots of people who just need a pep talk, need some confidence, and need to believe that anything is possible.
