Dub Noir's long awaited debut Pick Your Century will be finally available on July 2! The album features eleven jangly guitar-driven pop songs recorded between 2003-2006 from this Ohio band who sound like they spent their glory years on New Zealand's shores. 

Dub Noir started in Columbus, Ohio in 2003 by good friends Joe Howell (vocals and guitar) and Casey Immel-Brown (guitar). The band also featured Chris Bailey (drums), Marcus Matthews (keyboard), Eric Thompson (bass from 2003-2005), and Cameron Sharp (bass from 2005-2010). In 2010, several members left Columbus and Dub Noir went on long-term hiatus. 

Pick Your Century is available on limited edition CD (only 100 individually numbered copies with handmade art) and digital formats. Jacob Redinger painted the artwork used for the digital version and helped inspire the limited CD cover.

Dub Noir - The Careerist

This week's demo comes from Old Pretender, a five piece from Stirling, Scotland who name the likes of the Sex Pistols and the Jesus and Mary Chain as influences. Old Pretender formed in 2012 and have already expressed bold ambitions; they are determined to become "Scotland's next saviour of sound."

Lead singer Stephen Gilmour describes "I'm Alright" as "a song about being young and alright, even though everything around you is dying. It's basically about finding your feet to run with..."

HEADPHONE vond voor de opvolger van 'Ghostwriter' hun electronische pop met een randje opnieuw uit. Het resultaat klinkt als indietronica met een jazzstempel. Tot stand gekomen zonder al te veel denkwerk, zonder verwachtingspatroon, rechttoe rechtaan én verdomd natuurlijk. Ruwer, vuiler, donkerder, nooit eerder zo analoog en door gitaren gedreven. Kortweg: kamikaze.

De Gentenaren scoorden in het verleden flinke radiohits met 'Ghostwriter' en 'She's Electric'. Anno 2013 bestaat Headphone naast frontman Ian Mariën uit muzikanten die eerder hun strepen verdienden bij Isbells (Gerd Van Mulders), Zornik (Tom Barbier), Arsenal (Jan Roelkens) en Jef Neve (Toon Van Dionant).

'Riot' ligt vanaf 17 juni in de Nederlandse winkels, 'Raincoat' is de eerste single.
