A dreamy a reflection on the multitudes of frozen blue hues found in the lower recesses of Antarctica. This piece was inspired by documentary footage of the cavity underneath the Thwaites Glacier and the mysteries that still surround it’s origins. This anomaly is responsible for 4% of the freshwater that is being pushed into the oceans today.

The inspiration came from one of the more sparkly patches. I pictured the Aurora Borealis appearing over an icy plain that had been plunged in darkness for a long time during a long polar winter. A spectacle slowly rising in brilliance, only to disappear again.
