My name is Roddy. I am an experienced Studio and Live Engineer and a Freelance Music Producer based in Glasgow, Scotland. In the last few years i have worked with over 500 bands - in live venues across the UK as both Front of House Engineer and Live Recording, and in my own Studio here in the heart of Glasgow.

I graduated with distinction from SAE, Glasgow in 2004 and have been rising rapidly ever since. I am now (Feb 2011) developing a 6,000 sqr ft industrial space in the West of the City of Glasgow into what will be one of Scotland's finest recording and rehearsal studios.

What I Do:

I THINK...
The studio should be a place of creativity. The artist should be free
to perform unhindered. My skill is in ‘hiding’ the technicality and the
‘nuts and bolts’ of the studio from the artist - leaving only Fun,
enjoyable sessions which produce amazing, memorable recordings.
.
I DO...
I approach my work as a craftsman rather than a conveyor belt &amp;
every artist - big OR small - is equally as important.
.
I do things like - editing by hand, i don’t automate - it’s slower yes,
but i know it’s 100% correct! I prefer the sound of real instruments,
recorded properly, that is why i don’t use samples. I always mix from
fresh every time - i never use old pre-sets from other songs. Every
song is unique, so every mix should also be one of a kind.

I BELIEVE...
Digital recordings made inside computers are flat and boring! period.
My songs have life and character because I record and mix using
quality Analogue equipment.
.
My customers come back time and time again because they know
their music is in safe hands. I’m not cheap, quality never is but,
for the lengths i go to, i am definitely a bargain!
