Our premiere pick, ‘Divergence’, is part of the B-side and pulses through your speakers like a compelling invitation to hit the dance floor.

The duo tears open the EP with a clean-cut & high momentum mind-twister, ‘Cynical Moves’, setting the tone for what’s to come. While the pace and energy peak in the second track, the signature tunneling thrive is ever-present. Like a cat carrying her kitten by the neck, it lifts you up, controls you and drops you off elsewhere.

‘Divergence’ is a rambling pulsation, rhythmically building up towards another hypnotic wobbler. While trying to combine aesthetic quality with a high energy and emotional experience Altinbas and Cirkle manage to keep the underground feeling real.

Following a string of unavoidable releases in only the past two years with unprecedented international support, Brussels’ own Altinbas returns to Token with a second release entitled ‘Spirit Moves’. Recognisably full-bodied tracks, riddled with classic techniques yet designed for the modern dancefloor, Altinbas offers intention in the age of impulsivity.

‘Presence’ opens the EP, easing the listener into what has become Altinbas’s marque de fabrique. A steady, round low-end eggs us on to zip through vast celestial bodies, with euphoric inclines and cloudy descents. Traveling through ‘Presence’ is fluid if anything, establishing an introduction of boundless dimension to a record made with precision. Following this opening, Altinbas re-focuses his attention to centric rhythm. Bold, toned percussion makes for an infectious groove, instrumental in the most efficient way possible. Swapping drum machine sequences as an arrangement, the Belgian producer presses on to the second side of his project with the title track ‘Spirit Moves’. Taking yet another turn, the third part of the EP focuses on playful synth work with raspy hi hats; a seemingly randomized arpeggio runs along a head-bobbing rhythm, scattering melody for tension. Having departed from depth in the middle of the project, Altinbas comes full circle for the last chapter, ‘Blue Lace’. A return to stabby dub-like synths spread out in the stereo image make for a club record reminiscent of German classics. Mixing it with an eager tempo and present drums over a glossy ambience, Altinbas closes his second solo contribution to Token records by reaffirming the value of his sonic identity.

This track emerged from a primal wellspring, a visceral response to the echoing drums of ancestral conflict. Imagine a forgotten battlefield, the air thick with the guttural chants of a warring tribe. 

It's a sonic invocation, a hypnotic groove that pulses with the raw energy of ancient rites. Ethereal textures and evocative soundscapes weave through the relentless rhythm, creating an atmosphere both menacing and mesmerizing.

A leader of the Portuguese wave in techno co-founding Hayes Collective while boasting acclaimed releases on Klockworks, Blueprint, and Soma, Temudo grabs the reins to take club music back to its days of audacity and risk taking. A more than promising up-and-comer turned modern reference, Temudo defends his reputation with a release showcasing depth in his various sonic universes and a deep understanding of his music’s history. For its seventh release, Temudo’s ‘Meteora’ is a logical next step for the club’s direction - a sweet spot between dancefloor efficiency and enduring aesthetic.

Combining the intrigue of mental soundscapes with the reliability of imposing rhythm, ‘Meteora’ finds itself collected, expressing effect through restraint. The title track, claiming the EP’s A1, is just that - a force of interweaving sound design and powerful micro transitions. Some believe the best techno records are able to express emotion and attitude despite its dissonant and machinelike nature; if that’s the case then Temudo has mastered the craft. ‘When I Grow Up’, however, puts the focus back on the body. What sounds like warbling tape modulation over a percussive lead makes this record an addictively delirious ride from start to finish, fitting in with the track before while shifting to different priorities. Proving his versatility, ‘Vrthng’ at first seems reminiscent of the minimal Berlin style with a higher pace, but quickly progresses into something intensely euphoric. With experience and measure, an out of the box approach can really pay off, and the added emotion in ‘Vrthng’ is certainly a turning point in the EP. This mindset is clearly carried over in the project’s conclusion : ‘It’s Always Past’. A surprising use of harmony and storytelling, this final chapter ends with Temudo sealing his style with confidence. The track is mystified by its chords, ending ‘Meteora’ with a question mark that leaves us in anticipation for what Temudo dares to do next.

Chronicle of a Journey continues as a conceptual album divided into 13 chapters, each one representing an emotional state and a personal experience told through music.

Chapter 10 speaks about the kind of effort only understood by those who live inside the process. Working even when results don’t show up, moving forward even when every step feels heavy. It’s the chapter where I remind myself that every meaningful progress begins this way: in silence, with patience, trusting what I do and giving the day one more chance.

“Pulso” is a reminder that creation is also discipline: repeating, adjusting and trying again and again. It reflects the most human side of the artistic process, where perseverance carries more weight than inspiration.

The track is built around a firm and immersive rhythmic pattern, driven by a deep bass that symbolizes that inner heartbeat pushing you forward. Hypnotic and evolving textures guide the journey, reinforcing the feeling of internal motion and determination.

Now an established force in contemporary Techno, Mike Bierbach, better known under his stage name Rødhåd is someone who has seriously put in the work. Having cut his teeth DJing as a relatively unnoted (but well loved by those in the know) local in Berlin for 10 years, one could argue that by the time success knocked on his door, he was more than ready for playing the international stage. It was during these 10 years of obscurity when he refined his craft to become the singular DJ he is now. 

Launching his party-series-turned-label Dystopian in 2009 was what truly tipped the ball over for Rødhåd. In a time where the Berlin scene was heavily oversaturated by fluffy, miscellaneous dance music, he & his peers set out to form a platform for real techno. The reception to this was raucous. 

Although he has lauded productions and remixes to his name, DJing is his true forte. Before abandoning his day job as a draftsman in construction “The Red” (as some call him due to his gingered, bearded appearance) was known for playing very long sets in Berlin’s most notorious hideaways. 

With an album, several EPs & remixes for a multitude of different artists under his belt, Rødhåd the producer has received equal praise as Rødhåd the DJ. Dystopian has hosted most of his releases, but in 2018 he founded a new label WSNWG that serves as a home for collaborative productions, excavated in sessions at his East-Berlin studio with his peers such as Lucy, Alex.Do, & Antigone.
