Quelza @ Tresor Berlin 10.06.2022 I 5 Hours Closing

A Sunday afternoon delight from two of techno's most beloved heavy-hitters arrives exclusively on our Soundcloud.

Berlin techno viking and founder of Dystopian Records Rødhåd and the young, accomplished and Mote-Evolver regular Rene Wise have released their 4 hour set recording from March 2023, a huge B2B session that saw the pair delve in and out of eachother’s company for our last Continuum party. They played an extended set during the final Continuum 24+hour party of the season this Spring. 

The session, which started at 4pm as the tail end of the afternoon drew in and went on til 8pm ahead of a closing set from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, proved to be one of our highlights from the event. It's a real treat to be able to share the full recording; smashers from the get-go that takes us through the hard and heavy, to the atmospheric and energetic.

Lock in below and transport to the incomparable energy of Room 1 on a Sunday afternoon. Sometimes, we reckon, there's no place like it.

Stone Techno Festival 2025 - Ben Klock - Arte Concert

Electronic music pioneer Mijk van Dijk revisits a cult underground moment with the release of Pneu, produced under his Toneking alias. Reflecting on the track’s journey, van Dijk explains:
“I was completely surprised when I learned that a minimalist underground track I'd made under a pseudonym, just to try something completely different from the ‘Mijk van Dijk sound,’ had suddenly become so popular, especially in the Benelux countries, that a Belgian label licensed it in 2000 and commissioned remixes. I've always loved the Housetrap remix in particular, which is why it's featured here as the lead track.”

This new edition of Pneu brings together the original version alongside a carefully curated selection of remixes that capture the raw, forward-thinking energy of early 2000s European techno and house. The release includes reworks from Housetrap, Insider, Marco Bailey vs. Redhead and Zzino vs. Accelerator, each offering a distinct perspective while preserving the track’s minimalist core.

Now an established force in contemporary Techno, Mike Bierbach, better known under his stage name Rødhåd is someone who has seriously put in the work. Having cut his teeth DJing as a relatively unnoted (but well loved by those in the know) local in Berlin for 10 years, one could argue that by the time success knocked on his door, he was more than ready for playing the international stage. It was during these 10 years of obscurity when he refined his craft to become the singular DJ he is now. 

Launching his party-series-turned-label Dystopian in 2009 was what truly tipped the ball over for Rødhåd. In a time where the Berlin scene was heavily oversaturated by fluffy, miscellaneous dance music, he & his peers set out to form a platform for real techno. The reception to this was raucous. 

Although he has lauded productions and remixes to his name, DJing is his true forte. Before abandoning his day job as a draftsman in construction “The Red” (as some call him due to his gingered, bearded appearance) was known for playing very long sets in Berlin’s most notorious hideaways. 

With an album, several EPs & remixes for a multitude of different artists under his belt, Rødhåd the producer has received equal praise as Rødhåd the DJ. Dystopian has hosted most of his releases, but in 2018 he founded a new label WSNWG that serves as a home for collaborative productions, excavated in sessions at his East-Berlin studio with his peers such as Lucy, Alex.Do, & Antigone.
