I turn down the lights and lay myself to sleep

I turn my head to the other side of the bed

I lie flat on my back, put a pillow on my forehead
I imagine you and me, frolicking in the dark
The world stood still
As we slowly and gently intertwine

I yearn for you
And on such ungodly hours
The silence echoes the sound of your voice
(soothing, captivating)

The alarm rings, waking my being
I snooze for a little bit
The aftertaste...bittersweet

Turn it back!
My mind screams violently
Move the hands of time
Back to when she was still here (mine)
