This big country song has a rock, blues, shuffle feel. It's about coming back home after moving away years ago, and reconnecting with old friends, and getting back to familiar surroundings. It's nice to feel right at home with familiar faces and places. After the years of living in larger Texas cities and coming back to Abilene and writing this song, I hear the phrase everywhere, "back in Abilene." It's a real full circle story. Abilene is a wonderful town, full of good old and new friends.
