Shakuhachi: The Zen Flute : (The Distant Call of the Deer) 尺八 Shika no Tone 鹿の遠音

On this unique occasion, the shakuhachi flute of the masters Kohachiro Miyata (1938) and Rodrigo Rodriguez (1978) perform a traditional work arranged in 1974 by Kohachiro Miyata. The Distant Call of the Deer and The Cranes Nesting are the most famous and notable shakuhachi pieces in the Mu-Ryu musical lineage.the piece's special effects call for a particular kind of audible breathing in which the melodic line is never lost. Often the work is heard as a duet for two shakuhachi, and it is not certain which version is the original. It is played here on the standard-sized instrument {this particular composition is rarely).
It is said that the piece was originally learned by Kurosawa Kinko (1710-71), founder of the Kinko school, of a Komuso priest named Ikkeishi.

Mizuho's "mizu" is water and "ho" is ears of rice. This rice is soaking with enough water.
Japanese people has treated rice as main food and value it as identity. 
However, 1970's, Japan took an economic policy ("traitor" policy) to reduce Japanese (domestic) rice and increase importing rice from U.S.A. 
Then the food self-sufficiency ratio became under 40%.
Japanese farmer has best rice crop upon a unit area.
Kohachiro Miyata proud composed this piece,  and wish to revive of such Japanese rice.
Food self-sufficiency means real "independence”.

This is a piece of genre Modern. Poem of Japan  was composed originally for Shakuhachi and Koto by Miyata Kohachiro© in 1978/11/25, 3 months after the birth of Rodrigo Rodriguez who had the date of 1978/8/29.

Rodrigo Rodriguez - shakuhachi master - Musical Producer - 

Rodrigo Rodriguez (born 29 August 1978) is a Spanish shakuhachi player, musical producer, and composer. Born in the Argentina, Rodrigo lived and grew up in Spain from the decade of the 80s.
He has lived and studied shakuhachi in Japan under the discipline of the Master Kaoru Kakizakai in The International ShakuhachiKenshunkanSchool andwithKohachiroMiyata oneof Japan's leadingplayers ofthe shakuhachi.
In 2008 he put out the album "Various Artists Music That Illuminates Your Life" by the record company Gemini Sun Records which was distributed by ADA / Warner Music Group sharing multi -artist compilation with artists as David Arkenstone and Terry Oldfield.
On August 28, 2008 his third album "Beyond the Times" was chosen by John Diliberto and Echoes as one of the Top 25 Albums.
Rodrigohasperformedworldwide,atstageslikeImperialHotelTokyo,NHKCultureevents, andintheTemple Kōtoku-in of the "Great Buddha" of Kamakura city which is one of the most famous icons of Japan.
In 2012 he was invited to perform in Moscow, in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory for the International Festival "Nihon No Kokoro" which is directed by scientific and creative“World Music Cultures Center" of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory.
Onmarch1,2013,Rodriguezreleasedhissixthalbum"TheRoadofHasekuraTsunenaga"dedicatedtothe first Japanese diplomatic mission to Spain,which departed from Ishinomaki in October 1613 and arrived in Seville1614. Thealbumwassupported byJapanFoundation,EmbassyofJapaninSpain,CoriadelRio,CasaGaliciaJapon,SGAE and the committee of the Spain-Japan Dual Year
In 2014 Rodrigo Rodriguez was invited to perform at the first International World Congress of Jikiden Reiki, held in Barcelona, in the presence and the conference of Japanese author and researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto.
