As always, a little snapshot of the array of incredible music that has been sliding our ear sleds over the past few months - includes the expected combination of new/old, a bunch of our own edits and a cheeky little unreleased original towards the end. Hello fellow human being, fresh from our fingers and ears comes the next quarterly(?) edition of @rodeanmusic/Rodskeez and I's mixes titled: From Sprout To Simmer [The 2021 'Spring Into Summer' Mix]. Another compilation containing just a small sample of the amazing music we've found/re-discovered or has been released over the last few months.

Tunes from labels such as Hoomidas, DNSOTF, Balkan Connection, Souksonic, Suprematic, Future Avenue plus artists such as Luka Sambe, Evren Ulusoy, Rigooni, Hraach, Vazik, Matan Caspi and Stage Van H means there's a bit of something for everyone: From the floaty, groovy, and melodic-laden to the main-set heavy-hitters with plenty of edits and another unreleased original of ours titled "Where There Is No Light" marked in there with good pal @filterbear. As the name suggests, this one follows the trajectory of the thermometer, the transition between spring into summer.

The 71st edition of Juicebox Radio welcomes Ram Roozbehani (Mars Monero) & Rodean Roozbehani (Rodskeez). Both born in Tehran, Iran and currently residing down under in Sydney (Australia), Mars and Rodskeez discovered and developed their love for electronic music at an early age. While Mars found DJing to be the next logical step and Rodskeez dabbling around the production side, they eventually absorbed inspiration from each other and started graduating on both fronts. With music on Replug, Mango Alley, Balkan Connection and more, we welcome Mars Monero & Rodskeez on our show with an exclusive 2 hour set - also celebrating their track release 'Senescence' on Juicebox Music's first "Fables" volume. Mars Monero & Rodskeez are a proud product of Sydney/Australia, tucked away in the dusty underside of the Earth somewhere. The 2 collaborative brothers lucky enough to also share like-tonal tastes, spanning everything which tip-toes the lines that border house, progressive, techno and electronica's other dancefloor-friendly variants.

In the 2+ decades of combined experience between them, they've managed to release productions on imprints such as Sudbeat, Music For Balearic People, House Music With Love, Replug, Balkan Connection, Mango Alley, Sounds of Earth, Vapour, Proton and supported some of their sound's most prolific names both domestically in AU and abroad with plenty more to come in 2022 and beyond.

Kicking things off is "Voidjogger" with it's potent groove and driving percussion filled with spaced out synth swirls and twisted stabs that keep on building the hypnotic vibe through out the tracks.

"Fly With Lead Feathers" is a deeper journey with it's pulsating rhythm and dubbed out synth lines but still keeping the right dancefloor appeal.

Rounding off this release is another epic track, "Panic Engine" which delivers a relentless groove topped with plenty of powerful synth riffs to raise up the overall energy.

Electronic dance music producer Rodean has joined forces with field recordist Greg Simmons to release Expedition, a four-track EP that seamlessly integrates the driving pulses of electronic dance music with the complex rhythms and chanting voices of tribal music.

Built around recordings of traditional music captured in villages in India and Nepal, Expedition features three pieces of house/techno music for the dance floor and one laid-back lounge piece.

Released via Capital Classique on 21 September 2016

Rodskeez: 99 Percent Radio Show Mix - November 2012

Rodean has managed to reach cosmic heights over his career by sponging up every semblence of musical wisdom and knowledge that was bestowed upon him - when one hears of the journey and the company he's kept throughout, the tale of this love for music takes shape. The fixation with music creation truly began in the hum of computer fans, with his outline in the monitor glow of a bare room experimenting and tinkering with DAWs, hardware and a set of turntables, wrapping his ears around a soundscape of various genres. 

Armed with a bulletproof work ethic and passionate fervor towards his craft, Rodean went from being a writer, composer and producer of electronic music to a collector of hardware and instruments and studying to become an audio engineer by trade, specialising in synthesis, recording and production. 

While adding to the repertoire, he was sewing the seeds of his sound in the Progressive, House & Techno realms through a celestially diverse and eclectic sound that challenged norms and took a hammer to boundaries. This path had seen releases through labels like Renaissance Music, Sudbeat, Onelove, Vapour and CR2 and featuring on releases/packages with profiled artists the ilk of Hernan Cattaneo, Vincenzo, Peter Horrevorts, Minilogue et cetera 

No amount of descriptive ASCII on a page will paint you the right picture, the only way is to stop reading and listen
