I was inspired to share this track from the album The Second Continent as it was used as the closing track in a short film called Fledgling that was released earlier this year. In terms of arrangement it's probably the cleanest track from the album and, for me personally, stands out as one of the most heartfelt. 

Watch out for a new album dropping later this year on Esc.Rec.

Roger Doyle – composer, keyboardist and producer of own music, in concert and in the studio. Likes to work on large projects and to collaborate with others. His music is a celebration of the multiplicity of musical languages and evolving technologies.

Roger has worked extensively in theatre, film and dance in particular with the music-theatre company Operating Theatre which he co-founded with actress Olwen Fouere. Operating Theatre released singles with CBS and Mother Records in the 80s - the latter produced by Bono of U2 - and also mounted several theatre productions integrating music as an equal partner. In his 30s he worked in many styles, allowing the influences of pop music to filter through. He was one of the first people in Ireland to work on a Fairlight Computer Music Instrument.&#13;
In 1989, at the age of 40 he began his life's work BABEL which would occupy him for 10 years. In 1999 he set up the Silverdoor label and released BABEL as a 5-CD set, where each track corresponds to a room or place within a giant tower city. It contained 103 pieces of music and he worked with 48 collaborators on it.&#13;
In 2000 the CD UNDER THE GREEN TIME was released, a collaboration with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble; as was a CD of the piano music which Doyle composed for the Steven Berkoff production of SALOME, which played in Dublin's Gate Theatre, in London's West End and on three world tours.&#13;
From 2002-07 he worked on a large-scale electronic work PASSADES, constructed in 9 'sets', and released on 3 CDs.&#13;
From 2007-2010 he completed 2 'cinema for the ear' projects - live soundtracks for imaginary films: ADOLF GÉBLER, CLARINETTIST and THE ROOM IN THE TOWER (performed by the National Symphony Orchestra and The Crash Ensemble respectively - both released on CD), and in 2012  CHALANT-MEMENTO MORI - music composed around intimate verbal time capsules (telephone answering machine messages from the 1980s), together with  THE THOUSAND YEAR OLD BOY - software instruments compositions which are 'explorations in imagined world musics, past, present and future'. (2013).&#13;
He has just completed his first opera 'The Death By Fire Of Giordano Bruno' (2014).
In 1997 he won the Programme Music Prize (with Spirit Levels I-IV from Babel) and in 2007 the Magisterium Award (with The Ninth Set from Passades) at the Bourges International Electro-acoustic Music Competition, in France.&#13;
Roger Doyle is a member of Aosdana, Ireland's state-sponsored academy of creative artists and is constantly amazed that he is a composer.
