What is a song ?

If this was to be my only song, which story would it want to tell
To which style would it want to belong, and how could I shape it so well?
I imagine a tale with a lover and hero, and a stable of neer-do-wells
With passion and mystery driving the plot, with an ending unknown till the end
I could weave such a yarn that no one would deduce
How lovers became winners after all,
And if I had a chance to repeat it I wouldn't want a word to be changed,
I'd include subtle rhythms and beats in the passing and insert a chorus or two
I'd make sure to forget what Had happened before and change what was yet to appear
I'd construct an arena for a marvelous spectacle and a forum for laughter to roar
I' swing through the air with the greatest of ease like men on their flying trapeze
I would ride on the back of a greay^coated elephant with tusks on which to hang my hat;
I'd go chasing lions and tigers of Africa while constantly watching my back;
I would sing such a tune for trhe world to consume that on one would want to forget
That a song, is for me, as much fun as a circus, when admission ticket is free
How I long to find such a pearl in the ocean, and be inspired to share it with thee;
For as long as I live I will search for that song and send it to whom it belongs,

How Can I Pretend

My three spirit helpers: Polar bear-strength and persistence, golden eagle-vision and wisdom, and monarch butterfly-flexibility-adaptability-mobility, tenacity. together they assist me in staying focused, directed, and single-minded.
My musical history dates back 60 years as I learned classical piano for 3 years, then developed my ear by listening to pop and rock songs on the radio and learning them on piano. It's not till I was 17 that I began playing with others in bands for a few years and performed locally. 
I started composing and singing and recording my songs when I turned 50, my mother was dying, she had been a chorist for 30 years, and i wanted to show her that I could sing a lovely love song before she passed at the age of 80 in 2005. I sang « L’important c’est la rose » de Becaud.
I've composed 130 songs and have 120 on Soundcloud for monetizing and distribution. 
I am semi-retired massage therapist and am making more time to compose and record.
The sculptures which I. highlight in my song art are made by me from Alabaster.
