Do you Realize?

My rendition of Ennio Morricone's song Gabriel's Oboe - on my trumpet. Transcribed by my friend Cynthia Beard. 

There are a few "mistakes" on my part in this particular recording. Rather than re-record, I felt it best to keep it as it is. Sort of like the proverbial Navajo or Turkish rug which knowingly has a few glitches left in. Seemed appropriate for a song about deep vulnerability, rawness, and bare reality.

An interpretation of Prayer of Saint Gregory by Alan Hovhaness. Written in 1952, it weds lyrical postmodern abstractness with an homage to monastic Gregorian chant. Frequently performed with majestic organ accompaniment.
