Original Binary Press Performance Soundscape of Lexi Schnäbele & Hasan Erika Olivia Zeytin, performed in BS Feb 23

Binary Press is a symbolic and physical processing of internalized gender binaries that are still inscribed in our bodies today. Lexi Schnäbele and Hasan Erica Olivia Zeytin, two artists in transition, perform in a sci-fi capsule beyond the heteronormative understanding of space and time. In a collectively deconstructive act, Lexi Schnäbele and Hasan Erica Olivia Zeytin
confront their respective ascribed gender assignments and transform 
the boundaries of their attribution.

The first assumption of a trial of strength directed against each other is transformed into a symbol of common overcoming a partly predetermined, binarized identity constraint, the binary pressure. The hands of the performers create a symbolic field of tension, a space of encounter. Holding the tension together becomes a moment of care. A push and pull of assigned sex and chosen sex, who is actually who in this space? The palms of the hands a meeting place. A touch through hands and at the end through the gaze. The point of contact - the gesture of arm-waving - is embedded in a red light installation and a centrally positioned radiant heater. This creates a moment of absence of linear and normative expectations. A futuristic atmosphere, billowing with heat, in which two
transident bodies act, temporarily creates an alternative concept.

Chloé Malaise aka Enerzion is developing an artistic project closely linked to sound, installation and hacking, exploring our hyper-electronic material environment. Through both installation and live performance or the creation of instruments she question our relationship with the architectures and technologies that surround us. She invents her own analogue instruments and sound systems. Exploiting the possibilities of noise in compositions with contrasting energies, she designs sensitive compositions that offer a subjective, poetic and critical vision of the hypermaterialism that has become the décor of our societies.

Franziska Kastner, also known as "Bocu" is an intuitive sound artist who works interdisciplinary between music, text, drawing, installations and video works. In her relational artistic work, she explores the field of conscious and unconscious decision-making, the experience of mental and physical states in interpersonal spaces. An artistic process through sounds as language with fluid expressions, changing rhythms, unexpected melodies, oblique singing and immersive noise positions. Her progressive attitude grows out of improvised setups in which she uses a wide range of instruments between electronic, analogue and her own inventions or found sound objects.
