Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp and co-founder of the band, is the singer/songwriter of this treasure, C'est le Bon, which is from the album, Famous Last Words

Roger has also given us the eternal classics such as Dreamer, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Fool's Overture, Hide in Your Shell, It's Raining Again, and so many more. He has been recognized as one of the most gifted composers, songwriters, and lyricists of our time. Even though he and Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own songs.

Many people are unaware that Roger was the band's chief architect and visionary when it came to arranging and producing the albums and designing the stage shows. All his gifts continue to shine through to this day. In every concert he takes people on a musical journey that is both powerfully moving and intimate.

Roger Hodgson’s latest release, Classics Live, is a spectacular collection of live performances from his solo, band and orchestra shows around the world recorded on his 2010 World Tour. Roger, co-founder of Supertramp, is the singer/songwriter of the band's greatest hits to include Dreamer, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, Fool's Overture, It's Raining Again, Hide in Your Shell, and so very many more.

The songs Roger Hodgson sings that are often referred to as Supertramp songs are songs that Roger wrote and composed alone - that is how he creates music. He will often hear the musical composition first and then the lyrics come. Sometimes he will hear the whole song complete inside himself before he puts it down on paper and recording. Supertramp as a band never wrote and composed together, there were only two songwriters for the band. The songs Roger sings lead vocals on are the ones he composed the music and lyrics for, and the songs Rick sings lead vocals on are the ones that he wrote.

For most of my life, I've loudly and proudly identified myself as a Supertramp fan. All these years later, I listen with awe to the altogether stunning new Classics Live album only to discover that I am, in fact, first and foremost, a major Roger Hodgson fan. His is the voice that spoke to me as a young man, and speaks to me even more powerfully all these years later. An utterly inspired collection of live performances of the best-loved songs that Roger Hodgson has written and sung to date, Classics Live reminds us in the most vivid way who brought the world such beloved rock standards as "Give A Little Bit," "Take The Long Way Home," "The Logical Song" and "Dreamer," and why these shining songs endure as deeply personal yet somehow universal expression of longing, love and our endless search for human connection. Hodgson's performances on Classics Live were recorded in various venues around the world -- from France to Brazil to Germany to Venezuela. Some of the performances here are acoustic, some with a small rock band; others find Hodgson backed by an orchestra too, and yet the entire album holds together as the deeply felt song cycle of a lifetime from an artist who for too long has been too humble to lay claim to his own remarkable musical legacy.
