DT8 Project’s ‘Where We Go From Here’ trilogy concludes with the final EP in the series, out now on Anjunabeats.

DT8 Project is an alias of legendary producer, composer and DJ, Darren Tate. A classically trained musician, Darren has been composing club music since the early 00’s. He’s the founder of Mondo Records, and has collaborated with Boy George and Jono Grant from Above & Beyond. Discerning clubbers of a certain age will undoubtedly have fond memories of tracks like ‘It’s My Turn’ (as Angelic) and ‘The Theme’ (as Jurgen Vries).

The latest ‘Where We Go From Here’ EP includes a chill out mix of ‘Crystallize’ from K-MRK & Harry Diamond, alongside three new DT8 Project originals.

About the Song: Regenkuss im Abendrot

This song started with a simple sentence I typed into an AI: “Schreib ein Lied über Sonnenuntergang, Berge, Regen, Urlaub.” Just that. No melody, no story, no big plan. But from that one prompt, the AI created a full lyrical idea – and with a bit of guidance, we turned it into a fully structured pop-schlager track.

The song tells the story of someone escaping into the mountains, hoping to forget. But instead of silence, there’s rain. And in this rain, something magical happens – a new encounter, a turning point. The imagery is emotional, the tone uplifting, and the chorus (“Regenkuss im Abendrot”) sticks in your head.

I used this as an example in a discussion with my mother to show how AI isn’t just technical – it can be creative. It doesn’t replace emotion, but it gives us tools to express it in new ways. You don’t need to play an instrument or read music. You just need an idea – or even just a mood. The AI helps shape that into something tangible, singable, and even moving.

This is how songs might be written in the future: not alone at a piano, but in conversation – with a machine that listens, feels patterns, and transforms words into melody.
