Hey everyone!! It's been about 2 months since I last uploaded anything. Hope you've been well
I've been super busy with everything from work to driving lessons and keeping a semi-regular flow of music content on Insta. I started using the XDJ-XZ since then and it's been a lot to learn, plus adding Rekordbox to the repertoire. Re-planning/decorating my room and still managing to find a few minutes for myself each day :P

Short mix this one but I will be back with more. I have about 3 sets planned to play live at free parties but it's still work in progress and I'm hunting down individual tracks. Planning to meet with a bunch of mates from all over the scene for some B2Bs too when I'm on the road. Life is good ;-)

Hear my set from the Cicada Sound System launch party that got me a DJ residency for the rig. Pub party on 12th August 2022 at the Winfarthing Fighting Cocks Inn, just outside Diss.
My mate Cam asked me if I was interested in doing a guest set, as I had previously done a guest mix for his rig in May, which you can find on the Cicada Sound System SoundCloud page. During my set he comes up to me and says, "ok, you're now our resident DJ". It wasn't even a question lol but I'm not complaining. I'm happy to be a part of the crew. RogueseptiK Live at Cicada Sound System Launch Party 12.08.22

Merry Christmas everyone!! 🎄 I hope you're doing well and keeping warm. I recorded this mix a couple of months ago and since then, I got it mastered, took a long break from mixing, came back to it, played at another pub party and now I have this mix to show you. It's mostly hardtek/raggatek, with bits of everything from minimal, jungle techno, to D&B and psy. The inspiration behind it for me is the teknival scenes from around Europe, so I decided to mix up the UK sound with the Euro teknival sound.

Teknival Flavours 2022

[Long Description Ahead]

Hey, I hope you're all having a great day! It's been ages since I last posted and never before took a break this long. Since starting a new warehouse job in January (working 2pm-10pm), can't say I've had motivation to mix, post or even use social media for that matter. I've done personal growth, bought and experimented with Serum (still wanna get producing, remixing), got forklift certified which is gnarly as fuck. Waiting to get on contract at work.

I'm still keeping to the plan that I mentioned on my last Insta post (centuries ago, I know), with minor changes. I'll be announcing a new DJ/artist name and use it for everything drum & bass, and will begin to focus on D&B more. I have a logo ready and I'll smash out some mini mixes before making the big collab one. I've been building up my D&B music library for a while.

This mix is about 2/3rds of my set at the Cicada Christmas Party, unrecorded. We ran into issues with the venue and a few had their sets cut down. I've re-used a section or two from previous mixes, like the Land Of Bad Acid mashup and the 165bpm double drop from Powerstompers & Nasty Rig Whompers, but after listening through this multiple times, it feels like I have a compilation of previous works with a bunch of sick new bits. The premise of this mix at the party was to play bangers and only bangers; to pick what and when to play to create a powerhouse of an emotional listening journey. It's come full circle.

I'll leave the hard trance chapter here, for now, get my new alias up, make a new SoundCloud page with socials and work on that over the next few days. I have all the ingredients, so it's time to bake the cake.

Free Party Hard Trance - Anthems Showcase

Here's a collab track between myself and the late Jamie Tik Tok Taylor. Previously unreleased and made in Autumn 2021. Jamie was gonna ask to get this pressed on vinyl for Stay Up Forever with 3 mixes as an EP but we missed the deadline. There was talk of another label but I can't remember the details. We thought about a digital release afterwards but just left it. He played around with making artwork for it, so we ended up with a few different designs.
We did back and forth mixdowns, Jamie mastered the final product and fuck me was he good at mastering. Michael Steward (RushGBH/The Phoenix) played it on stream but the track made it to very few people's hands.

I'm glad I got to make this track with you geezer, may you rest in peace.

TiK ToK & RogueseptiK - Right On Time (RIP Bro)

Here's a gnarly mash up from this summer. It's been sat on my desktop for a while and I wasn't too sure how to approach any editing after my mastering engineer grew his wings, but music is better when heard and not collecting dust. Some EQ and compression went a long way. Anyway, Freefall Collective slap hard with their uplifting vibes! In my head, I heard their 'Truth & Rights' over pumping raggatek kicks, and Heatzy's remix of MikkiM & MC Turner's 'Body & Soul' just happened to fit best. It's a tune that by now I have abused lol.

Hour long mainly hard trance guest mix is recorded, just needs mastering and a release, but also I'll be looking at buying more tunes for some fresh sound for both projects, RogueseptiK and Tofah!

Freefall Collective Vs Heatzy - Tek & Rights (RogueseptiK Mashup)

Hello everyone! This one's been a long time coming. Here's one hour of mainly hard trance classics, packed full of stomping LaCargo releases, also tracks by the likes of Chris Hare, D.N.HAY, Alexstatic, DOW-T, Carbon Based and more. Big change up on the intro, and to be fair, this mix has a pretty deep meaning - the melancholic vibe throughout is no coincidence. I recorded what was on my mind. In 2023, I saw a few people pass away, all of whom I knew well. All gone way too young. Remember, if you're struggling and the light in your world has faded, reach out for help because you will shine again one day and you'll thank yourself for that time you kept going. Especially if you're a geezer.

This was meant to be released as my second guest mix on Wired Together Records. However, the plan changed since I recorded this in November. Finding the right mastering engineer was the first hurdle, and then we ran into issues with the copyright algorithm on the WTR page. Essentially, accounts with enabled monetization are unable to bypass the track getting removed, even though the release is not monetized. I'll be back with another guest mix on WTR as soon as I record something as good as this!
