Deep rage birthed within Velok’s core, overwhelming him… enveloping him completely, the scent of his kin’s blood in the air… his love before him – alive, but resigned to that horrendous fate ahead. Everything that mattered lay before him on the precipice of death. Adrenaline coursed through his veins, flooding his system – pouring through him with its dark and potent energy, overlaid with the clarity of his sensory enhancements. Pulling his energy shield from his back and tightening the grip on his blade, he charged forward from the obscurity of the portal doorway and into the broken landscape. He crossed the divide quickly, weaving through his people’s inert forms and making straight for the accursed shaman. The monstrous entity perceived him quickly, twisting to face him with that deathly mask – his sensors picking up the impending particle displacement, Velok pulled his shield up just in time to absorb the pure energy beam that issued from its frontal tusk. Without pause, he pushed forward – shield ahead of him, deploying a dense wave of cyberattack clusters to run interference on his foe. The energy beam stopped, Velok dropped the shield, watching the hulking cybernetic organism reel from the invisible attack on its system infrastructure..

Finding and internalizing the material for growth as a musician can be really complicated sometimes, since there should be a perfect balance between knowledge and soul. Too far from the perfect balance between these two and you lose yourself in disjointed parts of what you wish to really express.

For someone like our australian friend Joshua ÆTERNA, it can be a path for self-development; searching, trying, accepting and mastering something new, seeking the comfort and oneself within that discovery. That, for sure, resonates with one of the philosophical viewpoints of our label.

With this new EP, Joshua wanted to create something that reflects his current progress within the endless space of music, and showcase the relationship between stages of growth and falldown, eventual discovery and accepting this discovery as your own comfort zone before it falls apart; this process keeps repeating endlessly, an unstoppable cycle of movement that is about finding meaning and purpose in the things you want to accomplish; a spiritual, soulful journey.

Characterized by the unique blend of textures, atmospheres, sounddesign, harmony, musical lines and rhythm, this EP is fusion of everything Joshua wishes to currently figure out: how to create an emotive and cinematic inspired narrative that encompasses light and dark, the narrative that expresses a journey through difficult times, arriving at point of growth and clarity, that narrative in his mind that is dubbed "Paragoria".

Machine Dreams

Finally releasing this dubplate, inspired by the classic Motown break beat from the Winstons 'Amen Brother' (yeah the one everyone uses), and the music that stemmed from it.  

I had actually considered postponing this release in solidarity of the protests current happening in the united states, to keep the airwaves clear for the people involved so that their voices have the space they need. However, since I live in rural predominantly white state where there aren't many opportunities to act directly, I decided to use this EP as a small way to help ease some of the financial burdens of those fighting for their basic human rights. 

All of the tracks on this release are HEAVILY inspired by music created and pioneered by black musicians, and as a white male, I acknowledge how privileged I am to have lived in the safety that my privilege affords. Additionally, the white majority I belong to has co-opted numerous musical movements originating from black musicians, so it is very important to take the time to respect and honor the creators(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break). 

Because of this, I will be donating my portion of all Bandcamp sales to the BLM movement and the ACLU. I chose Bandcamp because it is by far the largest source of record sales for myself  and because the funds are available immediately, rather than some 3-4 month quarterly lump sum later this year and the movement needs support NOW. I will also be matching this amount personally(up to $500.00 because I can't afford more sadly). If you'd like to learn more about these organizations, you can find links below. 

We are all human beings and we all deserve basic human dignity. The US govt and US police force have been violating and abusing our black neighbor's rights since this country's inception, a practice that cannot be allowed to continue.
