The  sound track that is possible to experience live as a 6 chanel sound installation at the Venetian Galleries in KAAP in Ostend (BE). During the entire month of May GLUON joint with De Tijd on an extensive dossier on the economy of the North Sea and the exhibition of the sound installation Aquatocene at KAAP in Ostend.  

»Aquatocene / The subaquatic quest for serenity« investigates the phenomenon of underwater noise pollution created by humankind in the seas and oceans. The sound compositions are a mix between the bioacoustics of marine life (shrimps, fish, sea urchins etc.), the aquatic acoustics and the presence of human generated noise in the world's oceans and seas. The audio compositions of the subaquatic soundscape encourage us to reflect upon the anthropogenic sonic impact on the underwater habitat and marine life, as well as illuminate awareness and underscore the importance of maintaining safe sound environments for animals living in the world's oceans, seas, lakes and rivers

“There are still songs to sing beyond mankind” by Paul Celan
Aurelia 1+Hz / proto viva sonification is an interactive performance that explores the phenomena of interspecies' communication, sonification of the environment and the underwater acoustic / bioacoustics. 
An interactive performance features live transmitted sound generated by Aurelia Aurita - moon jellyfish and performer. Sound loops are containing recordings and sonic experiments of jellyfish in closed environment and prerecorded from the jellyfish blooms at the sea. Both are mixed into a new sound scape score which is assembled into immersive sonic and visual experience.
 For over 500 hundred million years’ jellyfish have been pulsating in the world's oceans and seas. Nowadays, amidst the immense environmental changes, their numbers are rapidly growing. Jellyfish are one of the rare organisms that seem perfectly suited for the Anthropocene era. The current 6th Mass Extinction may not apply to them. There are several species of jellies (some of them immortal), however, it is not established (yet) how they communicate? Do they feel vibration?
 Aurelia Aurita has rudimentary sensory nerves at the base of its tentacles which allows it to perceive light, smell and orientation. Its gravity receptors (calcium crystals) are the same as with humans' inner ear. These sensitive structures are providing positional information to the animal based on the direction of gravity. The odyssey into the exploration of interspecies communication is a way of discovering parameters to restore a deep relationship within all of life and it is a key to better understanding of the earth's environment. The relationship between human and animal is a key to better understanding of natural environment. Humans have massive impact on other species and thus it is crucial to decode what they signal us and how they see us. 
Technical description:
The performance contains a tracking system that follows the jellyfish and generates locative media. Jellyfish are tracked by the raspberry pi's camera which measures contraction, movement and interaction between jellyfish. The data captured by the camera is transformed in real time into sound via an algorithm that generates sound using the recordings of previous experiments such as sound data of jellyfish that was produced during the project entitled Deep Blue, at the Institute of Marine Science and Technologies in Izmir, Turkey. The sound navigated by the performer / artist Robertina Šebjanič has been gathered by hydrophones recording underwater jellyfish bloom on the shores of Izmir in February 2014.

Dark drops (Lygophilia*)

Drops that resonate in the darkness of the caves are a condensed representation of a complex and extreme environment that is still full of mystery and special beauty, and where the geological and biological time seems to unfold in different timeframes. The sound of the water dropping in caves has a strong presence: it breaks the silence. Those little transmit information about the living conditions from above and deeply into the cave, being both a source of food for biological life and the construction material for the geological structures. The audio recordings used for the draft composition are from Planina Lake, which is inhabited also by human fish aka proteus aka olm.
*Lygophilia is a series of research-based artworks initiated in 2017 in a wish to explore love (Gr.: philéō) for darkness (Gr.: lúgē) and unknown dwellers in places inhospitable to humans.
