The 39th release on microCastle welcomes Andre Sobota back to the label for his third EP in the last four years. The Brazilian producer has continued to impress since his hugely successful 'Surrounded By Time' EP from the summer of 2012. Andre's unique melodic sound has been enchanting electronic music fans ever since and he continues to be a favourite of Above and Beyond, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Eric Prydz and Pete Tong. Andre's new EP for microCastle is entitled 'Triangles' and includes 3 brand new original productions alongside remixes from: Robert Babicz, Microtrauma and James Teej.

The EP begins with the title cut 'Triangles' which would have to be one of Andre's standout melodic compositions to date. Led by some of this year's most sun drenched harmonies along with a dynamic groove and ethereal sonics it's sure to be a standout for the summer season. The lone remix of 'Triangles' is provided by Robert Babicz who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The Polish born Germany based producer has been one of the most influential artists over the course of his long and storied career in electronic music. Robert’s discography is full of impeccably produced classics like ‘Dark Flower’ and ‘Remote Kiss’ along with many others which all stand the test of time remarkable well. He’s updated some of electronic music’s most revered classic’s like Hardfloor ‘Acperience 1′ and Cybordelics ‘Adventures of Dama’ which both appeared on Harthouse over 20 years ago. More recently Robert has several stellar productions released courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock records and his own Babiczstyle imprint. For his 'Triangles' interpretation Robert has transformed Andre's smooth and serene original into a funky, tech house bomb. The main motifs have been conveyed in a more subversive way and the end result is a groovy melodic cut that's perfect for your summer dance floors.

The second original 'Morning Lust' sees Andre with another unique progressive techno production. Irresistible hooks, a grinding groove and haunting motifs all wrapped in a lo-fi approach make for another standout melodic production. The lone interpretation of 'Morning Lust' is provided by Microtrauma who are returning to microCastle for their second appearance. The German duo who are renowned for their detailed sound first appeared on the Canadian behemoth in April of 2012 with a remix of Cid Inc & Lank's 'Emotional Self'. Subsequent appearances on Herzblut Recordings, Sudbeat and Traum have highlighted the duos discography in recent years and they've turned in a cutting edge interpretation of 'Morning Lust' here. Microtrauma has stripped the track down into a lean and exhilarating melodic techno construction. The duos fluid energy is renowned and once again on point here with waves of sonic details firing through the mix. A chain of feedback thematics during the main break proves to be a highlight and gives the track an even more distinct sonic aesthetic.

It's Polish delight for the latest on Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings as the label welcomes one of the countries' leading producer duo's on board; Cream & Deep Fog.

With releases under their belt on labels such as Balkan Connection, Proton Music, Particles, PHW Elements and more top class labels, Cream & Deep Fog are a sure thing when it comes to top quality progressive house. And needless to say, this new release is no exception.

Both 'Palladium' as well as 'Gravity' are immaculate fresh sounding productions, top drawer material! With the title track clearly being the more peak time intended cut of the two, 'Gravity' shows the dreamy deeper, yet groovy side of the duo.

Stepping up to the remix plate it's label head honcho Francesco Pico who makes his return on Magnitude after this 'Taming Da Echoes EP' only a few months back, which instantly re-sparked the interest in the label. The veteran Global Underground / Outside The Box / Manual Music producer delivers one of his coolest productions to date with his intelligent heady interpretation.

Cream & Deep Fog - Palladium

Cid Inc's Replug Records gets 2019 underway by welcoming Anton MAKe back to the label for a brand new EP. The Russian artist made his debut on the Finnish imprint in August of 2016 with 'Naja Nova', a three track EP in collaboration with fellow countryman Shamil OM. In addition to an appearance on Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings, 2018 saw Anton return to Replug with a contribution to the label's highly regarded 'Defined' series. Now getting the new year underway in style the Russian artist presents his first solo EP for the label entitled 'Divo'. 

Anton's affinity for mystical storyboarding has never been more profound than on the lead piece 'Divo'. Anchored by a hypno-groove and sultry rhythmic structures, it's a production that flows through a myriad of free form motifs. Highly dramatic throughout, ghostly synths and astral effects converge for moments of sonic integrity, while timely drum fills and emerging atmospheres add to its mysterious charm. Redolent synth swells then come in waves, gently evolving across several well timed breaks, before soulful strums put a cap on this meditative gem.

Further diversifying his portfolio Anton showcases a deeper sound on 'OII'. Beautifully constructed, it's tight rhythmic framework is adorned with tepid overlays and wistful qualities. Evocative in nature, it's a creation where the sum of its parts exceeds expectation, relying on harmonic resonance, cosmic designs and a brief but euphoric theme to deliver it's spiritually uplifting message.

The release concludes in fine fashion with the exquisite vibes of 'Mandorlato'. Beginning with chunky bass stabs and spacey atmospheres, it's laid back cadence flows while layers of drums assemble in a lush organic space. Surreal and dream like, tonal creativities and fragmented sonics trail across the framework, smoothly shifting energy into an emotive interlude. Replete with reflective qualities it's an impassioned finale to a stunning collection of music from Anton. One of artistic growth and boundless creativity, setting up what should be a memorable year for the Russian artist.

Anton Make - Divo (Original Mix) [Replug]

The latest release from Digital Department’s Welcome Music welcomes East Cafe back to the label for a new single. After beginning the year with an EP for Superordinate Music, the Hungarian artist made his Welcome Music debut with a remix of Gvozdini’s ‘Pasadena’. Now the Hernan Cattaneo favourite returns to the Russian imprint for his debut single alongside remixes from Antrim and Anton MAKe.

Beginning with the warm, fluid beats and charming melodic concepts of the original mix it’s clear that East Cafe is operating at his creative peak yet again. Fresh and exhilarating across it’s near ten minute journey, it’s a sensory delight full of welcoming dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey atmospheres add a mystical vibe, before melodic overlays further the narrative through poignant meanderings. Building subtly, the beauty lies in the break, melting down to a rhythmic rumble as tasteful tones and cosmic arps converge in a perfect sonic marriage, perfectly setting up a rousing finale.

First up on the remixes is one of this year’s best progressive house producer’s Antrim. The Argentinean artist and Or Two Strangers label boss is fresh off an outstanding EP for EDGE and now makes his Welcome Music debut with a superb take on ‘The Filter Witch’. The groove and framework tighten up a bit for a more dynamic and robust feeling. Musically the main themes from the original translate beautifully with a well crafted break adding some extra dance floor fire. Perhaps one of the more euphoric drops you’ll hear all year.

The release concludes with Anton MAKe returning to the label for his fourth appearance. The Russian artist has gotten 2019 off to a great start with EP’s for Cid Inc’s Replug Records and Proton’s Particles. Now presenting his first remix of the year Anton closes the release out with a deeper rendition of ‘The Filter Witch’. The groove opens up for a more spacious feel and the melodic elements have been used sparingly for a dubbier vibe overall. Rhythm and flow are at a premium through the first act while a one minute interlude brings the melodic concepts to life, before shifting energy into a symphonic finale. A stunning remix from Anton which rounds out an exceptional offering from Welcome Music once again. Highly recommended
