Jiggs Dinner June 15, 2025 Part 3

My friend Terry Adey recently posted a beautiful photo of an old trap skiff deteriorating on the side of the road in Back Harbour, Twillingate. I have often seen that boat myself and every time I do I get this romantic notion that I wish it could tell me its stories…stories of bringing a happy crew ashore with a bumper catch of fish, or the not so happy crew after the experience of a water haul.  Then in the fall the cuddy would probably be attached to bow and the small stove installed for trips up the bay to cut and bring home firewood for the winter….
