Originally crafted for the Two Hour Album Challenge Volume 29 (Round) compilation in 2025, I used a lot of sounds that I thought of as rounded - soft, fuzzy, cuddly sounds with an overall light and hassle-free mood.

SOUND THE GENERAL ALARM!

After a lengthy process of finding the right vibe, I finally found the vibe needed to beef up this gem of a song from Alex Ball. I started on it last year, but inspiration had left me and my daytime job took most of my time and energy.

I took Alex' original stems he sent me and worked around his Juno 106S arpeggio intro and set off from there. The vocals were grouped in two main and chorus mixes so I had little to go on, but chopped up here and there to make a longer intro with some effects. I also doubled them and fattened it all up so it pops a little bit more on the choruses. 

I kept a little of his original guitars, but added more synth and some samples I had lying around that fit the song (yes, I'm only faking it in the video... I can't play guitar to save my life, really! :P). The rest is pretty much some of my goto synths and drumkits to really get the groove kicking. Even added a modulation, which barely made it because Digital Performer and Izotope RX had some trouble pitch shifting the vocals well enough without artefacts and Alex sounding like a smurf!

Hopefully I made it slap some more. Enjoy rewinding your clocks to something inspired by 1988...ish!

Game play recording where you can enjoy the wide range of sounds coming strictly from the Roland CM32-L. You can notice that it was able to generate kinda fx sounds even animal voices like in the jungle part near the end. 

Expect mystery strings, deep pads, lustful keyboards, glassy percussion, paranormal sci-fi synths, epic organs,  weird bleep fx  and animals, yes, animals :)

All them arranged by Clint Bajakian, Peter McConnell and Michael Z. Land.
