With great excitement we present to you a next release in the Lion’s Choice series. This time featuring the great singer and lyricist Reemah from the island of St. Croix with some powerful word sound on a deep and mellow piano driven riddim produced by Benjah (part of Bredrin Records) from France, complemented with an upful organ cut, by the keys master Jata, also from France. The whole project was mixed by Petah Sunday at the I-tal Soup Studio and includes some heavyweight dub versions, ready to shake sound systems around the globe.

When Mafia & Fluxy meet Nick Manasseh…
For the occasion Reemah from the island of St. Croix is back on vocal duties for the label - the result: a beautiful tune called ‘What Goes Around’ in a versatile lyrical style. On the flipside then - a ’Trumpet Situation’ - an uplifting instrumental cut featuring Berlin’s own Vale on the instrument. Both on an oldschool-style drum and bass driven riddim recorded in Brixton by the legendary Mafia & Fluxy rhythm section, spiced with some percussion by brother K’boko. The whole project was given to the dubmaster Nick Manasseh for mixing and the right treatment in his The Yard Studio and then mastered from 1/2inch tape at Star Delta in the UK. Now served with dubs and a fitting artwork by Chloé Bernal - ready to be played loud.

Reggae Roast strike again! After a summer of sell-out shows, critically acclaimed releases, Soundsystem shellings, both at home & world-wide, they’re back once more with a killer 7” slab of wax courtesy of two UK Reggae legends, Kenny Knots & Conscious Sound. 

‘Watch How The People Dancing’ was a big hit for UK veteran Kenny Knots way back in the mid eighties on the revered North-East London Soundsystem’s label, Unity Sounds. Produced by Ribs AKA Robert Fearon, this early UK digital bomb was as important to the sound of modern day Reggae as King Jammy’s influential ‘Sleng Teng' and it continues to set any dancehall alight. Conscious Sound’s fresh take on the riddim sits somewhere between the original heavyweight digital style he’s known for and one of Dr. Dre’s signature tracks ‘The Next Episode’. With the dubwise version on the flip of the 7” this release is an essential piece for any serious selector’s record box. Flash it! 

Kenny Knots has been flying the flag for UK Reggae for over three decades and has worked with some of the best record labels, soundsystems and producers worldwide. With crucial long playing sets on Dubateers, Jah Tubby’s, Conscious Sound imprints & Mungo’s Hi-Fi’s, Scotch Bonnet, it’s no wonder Kenny is one of the most in-demand singjay’s on the planet. 

Conscious Sound (Dougie Wardrop) is a production powerhouse based in London. He’s responsible for a vast quantity of genre defining records & LP’s since 1989 and he continues to churn out hits on a daily basis at his custom built studio in Hackney which started with a 4-track Mixing desk he purchased from another UK Reggae stalwart, Nick Manasseh. Still touring and releasing records at a phenomenal rate, Dougie shows no signs of slowing down!

Roll & Record was created by riddim maker and producer William Spring who is greatly inspired by Jamaican sound system culture from the 70s and 80s. Being a lover of roots, digital and analogue sounds, Spring stands out with his danceable, vintage sounding, productions as well as rythms with a more soulful and melancholic feeling.
After several digital releases with ODGPROD he decided to release his material independently in both digital and vinyl formats.
After having worked with many international artists such as Tenor Youthman, Likkle Jordee, Peter Youthman, Dan I Locks, Lilly Melody, Ranking Joe, Yami Bolo, Tristan Palmer, (and many more), he now performs his productions live and has begun to gain popularity.
