'Progressions' is the culmination of three successful years for the young musician after releasing his debut album 'Contrast' in 2017, during which he has released critically-acclaimed, successful singles that have resulted in tens of million of streams and spins on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1 and Radio FG. French-Canadian producer and live act Christophe Dubé, aka CRi, is a dance music star in the making. Following in the footsteps of fellow Montréalers Jacques Greene and Kaytranada, CRi has risen through the city’s bubbling scene in recent years and now reveals his debut album ‘Juvenile’.

Released early this summer, the album’s first single ‘Never Really Get There’, features CRi’s long-time collaborator Jesse Mac Cormack. With the announcement of ‘Juvenile’, CRi shares his latest LP offering with ‘Runaway’ featuring the sultry vocals of friend and album collaborator Sophia Bel.

A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemaker press with early singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Don’t’, which were accompanied by award-winning music videos, and picked up a nomination for Electronic Release of The Year at the 2018 Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to The Grammy’s).

CRi’s sound blurs light, dream-like melodies with textured production - capturing the energy of the dancefloor, and the nostalgia of the morning after. Christophe draws inspiration from his musical heroes Moby, St Germain and Daniel Bélanger (who appears on the album), along with more contemporary influences ranging from Caribou and Dark Sky to Jacques Greene and Actress.

Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 he quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac with his ‘Initial EP’, which was also championed on KCRW by Jason Bentley. 

The 11-track debut LP ‘Juvenile’ now marks a coming of age for the young artist…

“Juvenile is an ode to youth, innocence and dreams. The melancholy of the past and the hope of the future shape the mood of this album. The project revisits what resonated with me when I was young, and blends it with what drives me today. It’s a way for me to take stock of an era, and turn the page on something new.”

Throughout the album CRi collaborates with a number of his French-Canadian contemporaries, including Sophia Bel and Bernache (one third of indie pop band Men I Trust), and Québécois legend Daniel Bélanger. A star of the French-Canadian music scene and three-time Juno award winner, Daniel Bélanger lends his distinctive Francophone vocals to ‘Signal’, the album’s third single.

“All the collaborators come from Montréal (or at least from Québéc); it was very important that my first album was a product of my environment.”

A talented live performer, CRi plays solo and as a three-piece band with collaborators Jesse Mac Cormack and Sophia Bel. A hot ticket in his hometown, he has already headlined Piknic Electronik and played to thousands at Osheaga. With touring plans on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic, CRi will present a series of livestreams throughout the summer.

The album marks another milestone for UK label Anjunadeep. Celebrating it's 15th anniversary, the label is now approaching 500 releases, and is known for unearthing the likes of Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto and Cubicolor. With hundreds of millions of streams in recent years, and sold-out label festivals around the world, Anjunadeep continues to cement its place as one of electronic music’s leading labels, with CRi at the forefront.

One of Belfast's finest musical exports, DJ and producer Garry McCartney has become a prominent figure in the melodic techno world. 

Releases on Sasha's Last Night on Earth, Shall Not Fade, Tusk Wax, Aus and BPitch Control has made him a mainstay of the U.K. house and techno scene, with a recent BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record nod for 'Ekstac' from Annie Mac. 

While his Ejeca alias took the underground, it was another passion project that drew Garry’s attention in the studio; Trance Wax. Growing up in an era where trance and progressive artists like Sasha, Chicane and Paul Oakenfold were household names, Garry was inspired to recut nostalgic rave hits for fickle, modern dance floors. 

These vinyl-only releases worked their way into the record boxes of The Blessed Madonna, Bicep, Job Jobse and Denis Sulta, found radio support from the likes of B Traits and Danny Howard, and earned him a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in 2018 - providing end of the night moments for a generation of artists who fondly remember one of dance music’s golden eras. 

His first digital remixes arrived in 2019, reworking Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab's 'Clear Blue Water' and 'Satellite', supporting the Anjunabeats head honchos at two sold-out London Printworks shows. The ‘Manaya EP’ followed earlier this summer on Anjunabeats: the first-ever set of original Trance Wax productions, with the title track earning spins on BBC Radio 1 and playlisting on SiriusXM BPM.

The Trance Wax project steps up a notch with ‘Lifeline’, out now on Anjunabeats. Expect much more from Trance Wax in 2020.

As we pass the halfway point in 2020, it's time to present the third release of the year on the Greenstone imprint. This time we bring you Arbor; a club track that is perhaps destined not for the dance floors of clubland but rather to grace the decks of many a live stream in the months ahead.

Arbor was written as a back to basics club track, powerful groove, hypnotic percussion and melody that ebbs, flows and swells to a crescendo, only to give way to a thumping peak section that cashes down like a monster wave, rolling towards the shore, to eventually dissipate, retract and reform as a memory of what has just come before.

New Zealand producer Rolo Green has established himself as one of the most exciting talents to emerge in electronic music in the past year, with a string of releases and DJ reactions that belies what is actually a very short time in the spotlight. Whether it be his hypnotic, melodic take on Progressive House, his technical and textured Trance or his releases under the moniker of Harper & Green, his work is consistent and of a high quality that few rival.

Growing up in Napier, the North Island of New Zealand, he became influenced in dance music culture from afar from a young age. At fifteen, he was given his first set of decks and taught himself to mix. “I was given an early Paul Oakenfold mix from Radio 1 and that was me, hooked” he explains, “after that I was exposed to progressive and trance. I’ve tried to mix this together in my own music – a bit of everything.”

Rolo started producing at 24, amassing a wealth of vinyl and experience and dedicating his life to learning about music production. His first release came shortly after, but it was his  “Lifetime EP” that proved to be a real launch pad. Its epic and moody synth work pointed to a talent that surprised considering his short time releasing records, and Nick Warren became an early ambassador, heavily supporting the EP on his tour of Asia.

Rolo’s ascent from then on in was steady, with releases finding their way on to Perfecto, Zerothree, Avanti, Enhanced and most recently of all, a string of successful releases on Anjunabeats including his track “Napier” which was a stand out hit for the label in 2017.
 
2019 is set to be Rolo’s year. With a steady stream of projects and collaborations in the pipeline, Rolo has launched his own label “Greenstone” and has further Anjunabeats releases penned for release. Out on the road, his global touring schedule is set to explode as the demand to have Rolo in charge of the dance floors peaks.
