I wrote this song in memory of my aunt Ebony Rose, who, after becoming a victim of sexual abuse, succumbed to psychological and physical damages. Today (3/26/16) would have marked her 44th birthday. This original song is my tribute to her.

Sexual abuse is a serious issue in our community. Often times, including my aunt’s case, the abuse can occur by someone close, whether it be a family member, friend, or even a church official. It is our responsibility, as a village, to stand with women whose voices are not often heard. 

Don’t silence sexual violence.
