Tottie (@tottie_lottie): I have been in love with Independent online radio for years, and how its has led me to discover new music, beautifully curated by actual humans. London, Barcelona and the Mojave desert. Pianist - Joseph Schiano di Lombo. A small selection of things, people and places that have influenced me over the years. 

Maddy Maia (@maddymaia): Im A&R for Ninja Tune so have been lucky to grow up and work alongside leftfield electronic artists from all over the world. Also the UK rave scene in the early 2000s - Drum n Bass +  breaks. But honestly, i listen to anything from Kylie Minogue to Yves Tumor. London, New York, the Mojave Desert + the Angeles National Forest.

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: 
We launched SOS MUSIC our brand new record label and collective which aims to provide a platform for forward-thinking electronic music, with a focus on female and non-binary international talent. Our first release SOS Music Volume 1 came out on October 23rd - a 14 track charity compilation with tracks from Umfang, rRoxymore, Maral, Hinako Omori, Minimal Violence, Violet and more. We can't wait to bring more music into people’s lives. It’s a charity release , with proceeds going to three womxn charities - Downtown Women’s Center (LA), Trangender Law Center + The Women’s Refugee Commission. Upcoming projects with Public Records TV :)

Tottie: Do it yourself.... always ...with your friends and encourage each other. It will grow and become more potent together. It’s the showing up, performing, failing that really will grow your art.  

Maddy Maia: Echoing Lottie - do everything yourself, always, don’t wait for other people’s opinions or actions, learn and do it yourself. Support others, become other people’s fans, that’s how real artistic communities are built. Be comfortable with imperfection and trust your own taste.

About the mix: “We decided to record the mix on Saturday 7th November, the day we found out, after manyyy days of anxiety that Trump was out, Biden was in and Harris was the first woman of color to be the VP. We recorded this with a slightly fresher outlook, slowly easing us into the mood of the day - from the rain in the morning (first time in about 7 months) to the sun coming out in the afternoon - the energy was magic.

And here we are, closing out the year with a mix from a relative newcomer whose music has travelled well this year.

A Psychic Yes is a producer with whom some will be familiar and others not - with releases on the likes of Tech Startup, Kalahari Oyster Cult and Schloss his sound is uniquely individual. It draws upon a wide collection of influences and moods, pairing elements of IDM with playful UK bass, techno and beyond.

Each of his releases are woven as a wonderful tapestry of odd glitches, melodic flutters, strange percussion and experimental electronics. 

This mix is a representation of his sound and shows us a glimpse of what's to come in the near future for what is a very promising artist.
