To mark the release of their latest EP "Endless Sunday'' on the Berlin-based record label Thisbe Recordings, Parisian duo Nomenklatür embarks us on a one hour journey across some of their latest productions as well as their hot picks of the moment, crossing genres that define their sound : Synthpop, New Wave and EBM. This is followed by two more DJ sets by Krasnodar-based Rambal Cochet, aka Volta Cab, who produced remixes of each of the two singles of Nomenklatür´s EP, as well as a back-to-back set by Thisbe Recordings´Pyrame and Andrew Claristidge.

Šarūnas Šimaitis a.k.a Big Tasty is the key player in the Lithuanian electronic music underground. Having been in the business for more than 10 years, he’s an avid digger and genre-fluid DJ, in for meaningful adventures both behind the decks and off them. What really sets Šarūnas apart, though, is his commitment to developing and uplifting the music scene in Lithuania – he’s the head of the program at Lizdas Club and Audra Festival, two forward-thinking institutions in the city of Kaunas. In his DT podcast, Big Tasty lays down 57 minutes of psychedelic melodies and trippy beats, offering an introspective glimpse into his personality. As you embark on this sonic journey, we invite you to delve into our interview with him, where we explore Šarūnas' musical upbringing, his "no-bullshit" ethos, and his visions for the future.

Arrangements and rhythms were improvised on the night. Mistakes were made. There is some digital clipping towards the end. I tried my best to master it as best I could.

A Strange Wedding says Yes.

Paul Hammock started making music inspired by techno, electro and the IDM of the nineties, with Plaid and the early work of Aphex Twin as his main references. In 2008 he published his first full EP through Alphabet Set, where he stayed, after publishing a full LP, until 2014, the year in which an organically developed journey through record labels like Seagrave, Lunar Disko, AC Records, Computer Controlled, Furthur Electronix, Analogical Force, Touched Electronix, Fundamental Records or Nebulae began. In the titles disseminated by these labels, Cignol has been offering a particular style in which the notorious classical rhythmic patterns –notably those of electro, but with sporadic appearances of others circumscribed to breakbeat or acid house– of equally classic drum machines are marked by a profuse use of the TB-303 and a wide range of melodic designs that, far from falling into the potential monotony of the loop, are subject to accumulation processes and formal reworking.

This podcast, the first in Dialektik's series, is defined by the exposition of what has been developed during most of his career. What can be expected? A live set consisting of a succession of pieces, either released or unreleased, which feature melodies that oscillate between different forms and moods –from melancholy to smugness, from the enigmatic to the urgent–, ubiquitous acid lines of a meticulous and sinuous sensuality, a backdrop of floating pads and mechanical basslines, all within an electro framework while still occasionally offering archetypal acid house pills. The convergence of all these elements forms a sonic identity which is stamped by a nostalgic look at the future, imagined by the musical past that defined Hammock's early days.

Patrick Marsman, AKA Marsman is a very busy man. Back in 2013 the label Pinkman was first given form with Drvg Cvltvre’s Offender Status ‎E.P. over the following years Pinkman has gone on to release music from a wealth of talented artists including Antenna, DJ Overdose, Identified Patient, Alessandro Adriani, Xosar, Black Merlin and our very own Ernestas Sadau, among many others. Pinkman has since been complimented with the materialisation of sub-label Charlois and the tougher edged white label series Pinkman Broken Dreams. Marsman has also been responsible for instigating and realising Rotterdam’s very own digital radio station, Operator along with Osman Bas, Ofra Beenen, Jeff van Hoek and Jorn de Vries in 2017, with Operator now sitting in the swirling, luminescent kernel of Rotterdam's’ cultural firma-ment. A firm Tsunami favourite, Marsman is the epitome of DT style: creative, vigorous, fiercely idiosyn-cratic and relentlessly DIY. We’re ecstatic therefore to be able to present our latest podcast and interview courtesy of this exponent of quality underground electronic music and hard working architect of the con-temporary Rotterdam underground.
