A client with hypoacusis, a condition resulting from the decrease of sensitivity to sound stimuli, asked for a disc she could use while driving and maybe at night to help cover up certain ambient noises by way of white noise. 

The term hypoacusis originated from the word "akousis" which means hearing. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
