Tonenerd Whiskey Pickup

Playing a few EVH riffs with my custom EVH "Kramer" guitar with EVH Frankenstein pickup in the bridge. Playing thru an Axe-FXII. Not trying to play the riffs perfect. Just giving an idea of the tones.

Reaper Early EVH Tone

This is a song I put together called "Addiction" for a band project I did with an old friend that we called "Metal Aged". I did all of the guitar and bass parts and did drum arrangements using EZ Drummer 2. 

Guitar parts were recorded using a Gibson Les Paul with Motor City 2nd Degree Blackbelt pickups and bass parts were recorded with a Fender Squier Jazz Bass. Everything was run thru the Axe-Fx II for amp sounds and recording software was Reaper.

0:00-0:09 - Mids dimed, Gain 3 o'clock
0:10-0:25 - Mids and Gain at 3 o'clock
0:26-0:47 - Mids Noon, Gain 3 o'clock
0:48-1:20 - Mids 9 o'clock, Gain dimed
1:21-End - Mids at zero, Gain dimed

Friedman VH

Just a quick clip to once again show how great the Axe-FX II sounds direct. I used a backing track with the guitar parts removed, played and recorded the solo twice, then panned each solo in opposite directions. I think I used the Splawn Quickrod amp for this one.

I used my Charvel Warren DeMartini Signature guitar for this one. Axe-FX II is plugged direct into the computer via USB.

I've never attempted this solo before but just tried to remember it by ear while listening to the backing track.

Incorporated some keyboard sounds, etc. into this one. Guitar is a custom JWVan "SG" type into a Friedman JJ Jr. amplifier and bass guitar is a Fender USA Jazz.

In The Darkness

For this recording, I used a backing track of Dokken's "In My Dreams" and recorded the guitar solo and rhythm parts. Using the Fractal Axe-FX II preamp's Tone Match feature, I "matched" George Lynch's tone from the song "Mr. Scary" on YouTube to use for this song.

I played this using my EVH Wolfgang Special, into the Axe-FX II, then into Reaper recording software via USB.

Using a Whitesnake backing track of the song "Burn" with the guitar parts removed. I used a recent patch from Mark Day available on Axe-Change called "Mark Snake 2".

Using my EVH Wolfgang Special into Axe-FX II with Version 10 Firmware.
