The Ace Trax Series kicked off earlier this year, and we’ve already released five full EPs packed with killer tracks, four exceptional tunes on each edition. Now it’s time to bring it all together with a brand-new Hertz Mix, delivering the tracks the way they were meant to be heard in the mix: as a 54-minute, non-stop techno workout.

Selective Sycophant

Belgian producer K-Deey joins Say What? with a powerful statement in the form of the Delulu EP — a hypnotic, rolling, and groove-driven collection of four finely crafted techno cuts.

The EP kicks off with 'Delulu' - built around a pulsating low-end and tight, swinging percussion, this track teases and evolves with subtle oldschool stabs and hypnotic vocal snippets that seem to echo from a distant dimension. The result is a track that keeps the floor locked in while allowing the mind to drift — a perfect opener for setting a deep, rolling mood

Next up is 'Whimsical', a deeper and more introspective offering. Here, K-Deey leans into a hypnotic loop structure, with subtly evolving synth phrases and a dubby bassline that anchors the track. There’s a dreamlike quality in the textures, creating a perfect final chapter for the EP. It’s a track that invites inner reflection just as much as it commands movement.

The third track on the release is '16:1' - a sharp, percussive groove lays the groundwork for layered synth stabs and intricate hi-hat patterns that push the track forward relentlessly. There's a mechanical yet playful edge here — a kind of controlled chaos — making it ideal for peak-time energy without ever becoming too obvious. The minimal arrangement leaves space for DJs to stretch and manipulate in the mix.

Closing the EP is 'Tachitita', diving into more Electro techno territory. The groove is warm and bouncy, led by metalic-inspired rhythms and interlocking drum patterns that evoke a sense of ritualistic movement. Unexpected dark textures and tonal percussion elements flicker across the stereo field, giving this track a playful but driving character that keeps dancers engaged and guessing.

PREMIERE: K-Deey - Delulu [Say What?]

SWAY proudly introduces its first-ever Asian artist, Romel Johan. After a 14-year hiatus from music, Johan delivers an electrifying 5-track EP as part of his comeback. The release kicks off with “Cheeky Bruno”, a funky and hard-hitting track that transports listeners back to the golden age of late '90s and early 2000s techno. Next is the title track “Redemption”, packed with groovy elements, complemented by remixes from Funk D’Void (Soma) and Ecilo (Axis, Planet Rhythm). The EP concludes with “Claremont with Jess”, dedicated to Johan's beloved wife. The future looks bright for this underrated yet immensely talented artist!

The story behind the FREE TRACK!
We did the"Gloryhunters EP" on Noir Music back in the summer of 2009 and the "Gloryhunter" track made it to the deephouse top 10 on Beatport. (The Mooshy track made it to no. 15)
Martin lives in the UK and i live in Denmark. We meet every 6-9 month to do music together.
Our initial thought is to make deephouse, but last time we were in the studio together we ended up with a more hands in the air tech house driven track.
Because we want Sweaty Fish to be a deephouse project we've been sitting on this track for 6-8 months not knowing what to do with it, where to release etc.
We've had the interest from a few labels/friends who heard the track - but we just didnt feel right about it as Sweaty Fish is our little "deephouse baby".
So.......
Today me and Martin are back in the studio (Noir Music Studio, Denmark) for 3 days non-stop nerding and music-making. We hope to be able to end up with a couple of new deephouse tracks to release as Sweaty Fish later this year.
We decided to give away the track "Eye Know" which was the only track we made at our last studio session together.
Some might call us stupid as its actually a pretty cool track that could end up on a cool label earning us some more money and respect, but.......As the track isnt really deep enough for our Sweaty Fish project it just didnt feel right.
So here we go.....

Starting the art of DJ’ing at the tender age of 15, his gone on to be one of the fastest rising Dj’s in Asia. Having first started DJ’ing with the sounds of hip-hop and r&b at regular house parties, he got his first official DJ engagement in 2002 when he participated in the 1st Vestax Malaysian Extravaganza, where he made it to the finals. Which he finished with a disappointing result. Immediately he knew that he wouldn’t be able to gain recognition in his DJ’ing career as a Hip-Hop & Turntablist DJ, thus deciding to move on to the sounds of electronic music. 

His first passion for that new electronic sound was Deep House and soon on he managed to work his way up to get booked to play local Underground Parties around Kuala Lumpur and even being branded by local magazine “Juice” as the Finest Underground DJ in Malaysia & Singapore. As his exposure to dance music was fast expanding he slowly got hooked onto the Sounds of Techno and completely dropped his passion for Deep House and moved towards the Sounds of Techno.

In September 2003 he entered the First Heineken Juice DJ Quest, as the youngest contestant to participate, where he successfully made it into to the finals and finishing as the 1st Runner Up. Permanently engraving his name into the industry and becoming a familiar face behind the decks of some of the finest clubs around Malaysia. In addition he was given a chance to host his own weekly radio show on 'Red 104.9' focusing on Techno & House where he had an audience of 1.1 million.

In 2004 he became the youngest person at the age of 17 to have been offered a Major club residency at one of Malaysia's most renowned super clubs, 'Atmosphere' where he fast build a reputation and small cult following among local clubbers around Malaysia for his signature 3-turntable sets, also having known to juggle an average of 35 - 50 records per hour.

His technical ability behind the decks has seen him support the likes of Christian Smith, Funk D’ Void, John Creamer, Joris Voorn, Benny Bennasi, Kevin Saunderson, Tall Paul, Pako & Fredrik, Trevor Rockliffe, Deetron, Renato Cohen, DJ Misjah, Q-Hey, DJ Mayuri, Shin Nishimura, Technasia, John Askew, Judge Jules, The Warp Brothers, Adam Freeland, Felix Da Housecat, Eddie Halliwell, Simon Coyle, Simon Digby, Eric Powell, Veiga, Juri Menucci & Fuzion to name a few.

On tour Romel has toured, Spain, Germany, Japan, Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Indonesia & of course his native country Malaysia. He has also played for some Major Events such as Redzone ‘The Official Ferrari F1 Pit Party’ and The Electrosonic Festival where he was the First Asian DJ to have ever been booked alongside headliners such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims and Cristian Varela where he played in front to an adoring 20,000 fans.

By 2007 he finished No.4 on The DJ List (www.thedjlist.com) under the Malaysian category and in 2008 he finished No.2.
Away from the DJ circuit Romel has gained widespread consistent success as a producer, with his very first track ‘Offshoot’ that made it up to the Top 30 Charts on www.Juno.co.uk &amp; www.Trackitdown.net has seen its way to the record boxes and CD wallets of DJ’s such as Eddie Halliwell, Cristian Varela, Ben Sims, DJ Murphy, Ken Ishii and many more.

Apart from that Romel also runs his very own labels ‘Stream Recording’s’ &amp; ‘Dark n Dirty Recording’s”. Which will primarily be geared towards Funky Techno for Stream Recording’s and the more Deeper stuff on Dark n Dirty.
