Moiré is perhaps one of the most criminally underrated producers of recent times - yeah we said it. 

Around 2013 his music began to bubble within certain circles - weird, mutant off piste bass inspired music with nods to the likes of Basic Channel, tape culture and beyond. It was at times Dubby, at times Housey and at the same time never necessarily fit into any one place in particular. 

He was championed and supported by the likes of Actress and released EP's for Ninja Tune, Werk Discs, Rush Hour and many other prominent record labels.

However, in part to his mysterious persona, Moiré didn't go on to the rapturous heights expected of a musician so clearly and blatantly talented. Not one to 'play the game' so to speak Moiré was happy to let his music speak for himself without the bravado or 'bullsh*t' which often comes with an industry which revels in hype.

Instead, quietly behind the scenes, he continued to hone his craft releasing a number of records and albums on the likes of Ghostly International, Hypercolour and Spectral Sound.

His most recent release came in the form of a new album for Avenue 66 - an exploratory journey through IDM inspired sounds based upon analog modulation and circuit loops - hence the title 'Circuits'.

It was an ambitious project for a producer keen to challenge his own limitations in his use and approach to hardware and instrumentation.

The result? A killer assortment of pensive, thought provoking electronic sounds that's all too easy to get lost in.

Anyway, we invited Moiré to record a mixtape for us, we should have really asked before.

THe "LONG LIVE DILLA" project is a body of work released by SiR on February 17th, 2014. It was made in honor of the late great J Dilla, and It features some of the world's best musician's, artist, and poets.. 12 tracks featuring SIR ILL CAMILLE, IMAN OMARI, CHRIS DAVE and THE DRUMHEDZ, THE PENSOULS, and SCOOP ELLINGTON. New songs over Original Dilla beats, Live reproductions, and "Dilla" inspired Production from Producer like Jason LBS, IMAN OMARI, and DK the PUNISHER. My good friend DJ Black Velveteen asked me to do a mix for the radio show and I was super happy when she agreed that an original live set would be a good thing to do. Actress - Live at Le Guess Who? 2024

Solid Steel in association with Serato (19th June) In Hour 1 this week it's a pleasure to welcome Scratcha DVA to Solid Steel. A highly respected DJ and producer with releases on his own DVA imprint and Hyperdub, which will finally see the release of the killer 'Allyallrecords' track alongside previous guest Addison Groove and features in this mix. He's done a mix in 3 sections, keeping it chilled in the first 20 mins with new tracks from Cornelia and Dean Blunt, then the middle 20 with tracks from his club set by some new or under exposed names like Lokane, Shy One and Neana, before the final 20 which features artists like Zora Jones, DJ Die, but mainly bits from Teklife artists. Look out for some new productions from Scratcha DVA himself in the first 40 mins.
