This is a song written by my big brother Sam.  I dedicate this acoustic project to him and my other brothers who worked with me on many music projects over the last couple of years. 

The song is partly sung in Top Western Torres Strait language (Saibai/Dauan Island) stating the familiar surroundings of the Island home.

This emotional song was written for me by my loving big brother Sam.  It is in the unique language of the KKY or Kalaw Kawaw Ya, a top-western dialect of the Torres Strait Islands of Australia.  This moving song is about abruptly leaving my home town of Bamaga in the Northern Peninsula Area and coming further down south to Cairns by air when I was teenager.  I had just finished my second year of high school and I was joining my family who had migrated some time previously. The striking lyrics describes my significant sadness at leaving and details the take-off, departure and climb of the flight also.

This is my family song as it was written for my great grand father (dhu dhu).  It is about him being a great sea hunter and him preparing to go out hunting. 

This was recorded recently at my cousin's 21st birthday where traditional Torres Strait Islander dancing was featured.

This full track was 6 years in the making.
It speaks about making choices whether good ones or bad ones.  We try to make the good ones but end up costing the bass ones sometimes.

I guess the important thing is we move on no matter how bad the choices were and strive to be wise.  I believe God and the right people can help us with this.

I wrote this track last year while contemplating the destructive effects that alcoholism had on my family.  I guess the main message I want to get across is talk to the right people about problems.  Don't be silent and try and 'drink' it away!

This is a song about the great warrior Kuyum and his feared reputation throughout the Torres Strait Islands.  I enjoyed coming up with a baseline and playing it for this project.  Willy was awesome throughout the whole recording process and so were the other participants.  A big thankyou to our producer extraordinaire Jeff Cripps and all the other management staff who helped throughout our many projects over the last couple of years.
