Here's a quick little sketch I was messing around with tonight. I did not mix anything at all. I know I should have... but I'm sleepy... 

I think ill turn this into a full song in the next couple weeks. I'll add more and more to see where it goes. I really just wanted some feedback! Let me know what you guys think!

The Sleeper was an idea I had last night before bed that kept me up way too late and took over my entire day, and I'm totally okay with it. 

It's not the fastest build, and that's on purpose. If you're patient with me, I have a feeling you'll dig what this turned into.

Had some fun with this idea. Thought it would be cool to go on a drive at night, shoot whatever was on the way, come home... check out footage, and just write. I got so inspired I ended up editing the track into the shots and really loved how it came out.

I remember being in middle school hearing the news about what happened in New York. It had been a couple years since my family had been residence of America. We were not as patriotic as my other American friends, but deep inside, citizen or not, you know when something catastrophic happens. Regardless of how emotionally connected i was to this country, i knew that an injustice had committed. 

I wrote this song not just as a tribute to what took place on September 11th 2001, but as a tribute to what happened after: The rebuilding of a nation. Irrespective of who's in leadership, I will always cling to the hope that our nation is a nation under the God who restores.

I finally decided to write something that started ambient and stayed ambient. I had many temptations to layer bigger sounds, and percussive sounds but i think it started taking away from the space that i needed to start embracing.

Seeing movies like Inside Job by Charles Ferguson & Margin Call by J.C. Chandor have really fueled a lot of my disdain for the government and what happened in 2001-2008 with the stock market and the housing bubble. I was in one of the many families in America that lost our home due to foreclosure and the mathematically illogical system our government and investment bankers produced. Seeing evidence now that proves that the 1% knew what was going to happen and still pushed the limits of the system to only gain even more money for them personally, while the rest of America suffered is sickening. 

The name of this song is a reference to Wall Street, the financial district of NYC and how the system was in essence flawed and manipulated to make the rich richer, and the poor much more poorer. I added certain sounds in the song to give it an element of an imminent structure failure and have some instruments (mainly the piano while the song calms down a bit) reflect a sense of "warning". 

Over all i wanted to write a song that told a story of what happened from the conception of it all, to the warnings, and ultimately the overall bursting of the bubble. 

I honestly hate to get political when it comes to my music, but i do think theres a place for artists that should rise up and talk about issues that effect the masses.
