Description: A blast from the past with this live recording from Mono Bar (Opium) on wexford street from 2001. Some of the best nights of my Dj life in Mono, one of my first big residencies in Dublin.

I selected tunes for this mix last year during LD out of sheer self-indulgence. A mix of 30 years of my own personal Balearic Anthems. The Dance tracks that reminded me of the Real Balearic sound of Ibiza. Sitting at Cafe Del in the early 90’s contemplating life whilst experiencing the magic of Jose Padilla for the first few time. The first time hearing Alfredo at Amnesia and wondering “WTF ”. The memories of Space Terrace on a Sunday afternoon, the boat parties, sailing round the island, Es Vedre, the plane journeys, the season of ’99 at Es Paradis, Pacha, Cheesecake, Cafe Mambo and a hundred restaurants. The tunes that reminded me of people who turned into friends, of friends that turned into family, of absent friends, of unforgettable nights and days
My BA are the tracks that meant something to me and my 30 year journey. Tracks that moved me emotionally and spiritually - maybe not usual obvious anthems people would expect to be picked, but each one my own personal anthem

The 25 year old 'Southport Weekender' event is the premier soul music weekender! Held at the Butlin's Holiday Resort in Bognor it hosts a world class line up of artists and DJ's covering the whole spectrum of classic and contemporary soulful sounds. For somebody like me, I can only dream of ever playing at this level and its safe to say it ain't ever going to happen. But it doesn't mean I can't pretend...

So here's my mix in honour of this years 'Southport Weekender' festival. Picking a selection of my favourite soulful and deep grooves.

A house music Dj from Dublin for over 25 years playing all the major clubs & bars. His style of funky, vocal house brings life to any dancefloor. From the early years of Club Mono, POD, Redbox, The Kitchen, Lillies Bordello to recent years of Opium & Ibiza hot spots Bora Bora, Plastik, Eden over the years. An early career in radio started back in 1998 managing KISS FM & then setting up Nova 947 along with covering shows later on at the big stations 2FM for Jenny Green & FM104 for Al Gibbs.
