Modem Records presents Overlooked Essentials Vol. II, a multi-genre compilation album in aid of the non-profit Feed Our Homeless charity in Dublin. This is Modem’s second instalment of their annual compilation - giving emerging talent the opportunity to promote their work with some of the country’s most established artists, while giving back to essential community services at the most difficult time of year. The album boasts a wide range of genres from more than 20 of the best emerging electronic producers at home and abroad - including Cailín, Lee Kelly, James Cherry, Maurice-Anthony-Moran, Hank LW, and Ron Elliot.

The album will be available from the Modem Bandcamp store only, with all proceeds donated to Feed Our Homeless in time for Christmas. Feed Our Homeless are on the streets of Dublin 7-nights a week, providing essential support and care to the homeless community through a soup kitchen, outreach service, advocacy and more.

Joining me this month is an absolutely wonderful human + DJ @bevandj who I met for the first time last King's Day at the legendary party with the Happy Records crew.

I was absolutely blown away by this man's track selection & mixing and since then have become good friends. Two house music lovers coming together, a recipe for a good friendship in my eyes.

What's the bleedin' story.  It's Friday, and I've gotta say I'm feeling mighty damn good that the new Ron's Mind mix series is finally here! And, we have a special guest joining us for this episode - the maximum lekker, Utrecht based, Disko Disko Soundystem!

I caught these two at ADE for their party in Pacific Amsterdam and was hooked on their track selection + mixing. Proper feel good from start to finish and simply had to get them in for a guest mix.

I'm buzzed to share my latest release, "Core" — warpy sounds inspired by one of my favourite games of all time, Starcraft 2. Dive into the sounds of the Protoss race with me, and feel like you're space traveling ☄️

It’s been in the works for 4+ years now, but I’m thrilled to finally release my debut EP. 

With the lead in track ‘UFO’ featuring a breakbeat infused styled with a rumbling bassline, it’s the perfect example of what direction the EP was going in. 

The second track of the EP, ‘Bounty’ pushed into more of the more melodic side of things, with an arpeggiated bassline accompanied with some orchestral strings. 

Last but not least, ‘Splove’ is a track purely made for the club. Thumping kick drums alongside a gritty bassline & sharp drums.

Fresh off the back of winning the AVA’s ‘emerging producer’ award, Ron sets the bar high with his debut vinyl outing ‘Haarlem’ EP, which pays homage to his new city of residence after moving from Dublin earlier this year.

‘Haarlem’ EP takes the listener on a journey, through the use of euphoric synth patterns, club fueled jungle breaks and epic breakdowns.

‘Haarlem’ EP is out 11th September via Shall Not Fade.
