As LionDub International charges into 2014 with mulitple releases and a newly-unveiled Street Series, we welcome a roster of unheard talent to both its main label and the freshly-born sub-label. The next release features tracks and remixes from artists based all over the globe; contributions streamed in from Delhi, London, Toronto, Paris, Dublin, Glasgow and it is ultimately released out of Brooklyn. 

REDS, a recently-minted East London drum-and-bass duo who we proudly offer their solo vinyl debut featuring vocals from India's Delhi Sultanate and remixes from Canada's jungle don Marcus Visionary, the inimitable Mungos Hi Fi out of Scotland, Dublin's Dirty Dubsters and one of France's dubstep legends, Von D. The bouncy original from the pair falls close to a dancehall feeling, with understated and low-mixed drums dropping away to accentuate the bounding bass rhythm and the center-stage vocal performance. The old-school jungle style of Marcus Visionary comes through strongly in his rolling remix, which revels in the rush of tumbling drums and blasts of mid-range bass. Mungos Hi Fi give this release a solid reggae re-lick with new sound clash style vocals from Delhi Sultanate and sweet choruses from longtime collaborator Begum X out of India. This particular Mungos riddim released earlier in 2013 to great acclaim featuring vocals from none other than Soom-T on her "Bong Bong" anthem. The Dirty Dusters offer up a unique, Euro dancehall twist on their high energy remix. Full vocals and simple, yet, catchy grooves wind up the track in a unique style. From his rich past on labels like Argon, Black Acre, and Boka, it would be expected that Von D give an altogether more contemporary treatment, and fittingly he reduces the tempo, ups the atmospherics, and brings in brutal walls of battering bass in half-step time for the smokers in the room while leaving most of the vocals, which were so present in the other mixes, on the cutting room floor. The transformative ending to this widely-varied EP gives balance and range to the release and presents a strong debut offering for REDS and Delhi Sultanate as Liondub International continues its charge towards new territory for 2014.

Roni Size Reprazent’s ‘Live At Colston Hall’ is a 13 track live album CD and accompanying DVD including 4 original, unreleased tracks recorded live from the band’s legendary show at Bristol’s Colston Hall in 2009. The audio is also available as a digital release.

The now classic performance reopened the world-famous British venue, and saw Roni & Reprazent accompanied by the composer William Goodchild and The Emerald Ensemble (now known as the Bristol Ensemble), whom the band had worked with for Reprazent’s third album, ‘New Forms2’. The show reinterpreted the band’s hugely respected and influential back catalogue, making them one of the first drum & bass artists to work with a live orchestra and choir, and bringing together the worlds of electronic and classical music years ahead of events like the BBC Classical Ibiza Proms.

2015 saw a triumphant – and in demand - return to the live arena for Roni Size Reprazent, culminating in a homecoming show in Bristol, where they became the first band to perform live on Arcadia’s gigantic mechanical Spider made famous by Glastonbury and Boomtown Festival. This performance followed two sold out shows at London’s KOKO, and festival mainstage / bigtop performances at Exit Festival, Parklife, Love Saves The Day, Electric Castle, Melt!, Balaton Sound, Audioriver, Boardmasters, SW4, Bestival, Outlook festival and more.

‘Live At Colston Hall’ features a 12-page booklet with exclusive photos from the show and quotes from the band. The tracklisting includes new and original material plus songs from the three Reprazent albums (the Mercury Prize winning ‘New Forms’, ‘In The Mode’, and ‘New Forms2’), as well as Roni’s solo material from the Full Cycle era.

Klute (who is also a punk rock musician) is working on his new album and just released a powerful remix of "Take a Breath" on Commercial Suicide 098. He is always going for an individual artist style within D&B - combined with a unique energy and emotional human touch.
