Ride On (Christy Moore cover)

This song was recorded at Coleg Harlech in April, 2012 with fellow music tech students Isaac Wadsworth on bass and Nathan Robertshaw on drums.  It's had a couple of plays on the BBC Radio Wales Introducing Show. Presenter  Adam Walton heaped huge praise on it and remarked that the beautiful surroundings of Ruthin and the Clwydian Range "seem to have informed Ronnie's music. It's also kind of Syd Barrettesque and I think it's really, really lovely."

Birdsong

A song inspired by the coastal town of Harlech in Meirionneth. It's about rebirth and the coming of Spring, of hope over fear. And to see the good in people.  Therefore, it's especially a tribute to all those students who turned their lives around at the former second chance education establishment of Coleg Harlech.

Record Street

I first wrote this song ten years ago, whilst travelling up through the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile. The words came first, the rhythm and melody soon afterwards. In 2012, I recorded a demo of the song in Coleg Harlech. This is a new version, recorded Easter, 2020.

A Christmas tune. The idea stems from my experiences as a trainee newspaper reporter in Southport, Northern England many years ago. The lyrics have matured over the years. They conjure up a stark societal reality but "I want to believe it's Christmas".

Christmas on Lord Street

I first worked on this tune called SPIDERS back in 2008 with Wyn Rimmer at his recording studio in Ruthin. In 2012 at Coleg Harlech, tutor Charlie Goodall encouraged me to give it the band treatment. Isaac Wadsworth on bass and Nathan Robertshaw, drums, enriched the song with a real depth. In latter years Record Street's Daniel Muckle-Jones Dan Compton and Gareth Jones resurrected it with some pace, energy and lyrical refinement! The acoustic version I've recorded this weekend follows their arrangement as best as I remember. The creative process stands the test of time....

Spiders (acoustic version)

Ronnie is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Ruthin, North Wales.     
He recorded his first demo album of original songs at Coleg Harlech in 2012.  Several of these have been played on BBC Radio Wales. 
Ronnie also recorded another demo album with renowned producer Robin Wynn Evans (Manic Street Preachers, Dodgy, The View, The La's)in 2013.
Music influences include Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Davy Graham, Syd Barrett and the Super Furry Animals.
