Q1. How and where was the mix recorded? Could you tell us about the idea behind the mix?
This mix was recorded in our studio in Melbourne. Our idea was to strengthen the connection we have formed with the Japanese scene in the past few years by choosing music exclusively from Japanese and Australian artists. We also included a few unreleased tracks from Butter Sessions that feature both Australian and Japanese artists. It kind of captures how we might DJ in a longer set but condensed to just over an hour. Jumping up from more ambient sounds to house and then techno and then winding it down again.

Q1. 今回のミックスはどこでどのように収録しましたか？今回のミックスを作りあげる上でのアイデアがあれば教えてください
レコーディングは僕たちのメルボルンのスタジオで行ったよ。このミックスを通して、この数年間に日本のシーンと築いたつながりや体験を強めたいと考えていて、そのために日本とオーストラリアのアーティストの音楽だけを選んだんだ。Butter Sessionsからまだリリースされていないトラックの中から、この二国のアーティストが作ったものもいくつか入ってる。僕らがロングセットでやることを1時間ちょっとに圧縮したようなミックスになってるよ。アンビエントからハウスに、ハウスからテクノに盛り上がってまた戻っていくような、そんな感じだよ。

Excuse me! Subalterns. The parcel did arrive. Bright, bright, really. No, it’s taxes, complexity. We were that age. Dresses have seasonal periods."

Phuong-Dan’s all-embracing selection and boundary-breaking sets have earned him a wide recognition in the most eclectic spheres of dance music. Almost two decades behind the decks of the Golden Pudel Club and a sincere passion for digging have made him a seasoned veteran of the all-goes DJing. Never restraining himself to monotony – in or out of the dancefloor – he combines gigs all over the world with project specific works and musical programming. A good example of the latter are the Gatto Musculoso nights he hosts in Hamburg, which have seen through the years artists of every shape and size. He is a regularly guest at Düsseldorf’s Salon des Amateurs and played noted clubs like Robert Johnson in Offenbach or De School in Amsterdam – but also in art spaces like Haus der Kunst Munich or Kunsthalle Vienna. He played music at Intonal Festival, Dekmantel Festival, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Foreign Affairs Festival Berlin or Überjazz in Hamburg.
