SLAM CLUB CLASSICS Remixed Episode 5

Now that Amsterdam Dance Event is over it's time to reminisce about last month's events. The most anticipated and talked about gig was undoubtedly the Red Bull Studios Playroom party.

Paying homage to the history of Dutch club culture, they invited eight legendary (not my words, just citing their press release ;-)) DJs to represent four iconic nightclubs - the mother of all clubs RoXY, the kinky iT, the decadent Speedfreax and the smoking hot O.W.A.P.

The people of Red Bull always feel the need to kick things up a notch so this event took place in the iconic Amsterdam Red Light District.

This is the second hour of the special iT dedication set I played. It features some of my most favourite tracks of that era.

At the end somebody switched on a microphone so you will hear the crazy crowd reaction to the tunes which makes the experience more memorable.

This is a recording of my set at the Defected stage during last Saturday’s  Lakedance festival. 
 
It’s filled with funky house tunes, and naturally also a wealth of acappella action to spice things up.
 
This is the first part of the show, I subsequently went on to play for almost 2.5 hours. 
 
The remainder of the set is unfortunately missing due to battery shortage on my recording device.

Here’s a home game house session where everything was all about vibes and grooves. Backed up by the uncanny and impeccable voice of none other than MC Gee who took things to another level altogether with his party vibe! I thoroughly enjoyed myself as did the 'up for it' Rotterdam crowd. Turn it up. And like, comment & repost if you feel the vibe!!

This is a recording of the set I played at a sold-out Glitterbox in De Marktkantine Amsterdam on 25 January 2020.
 
Since the main room was full on disco with grandmeisters Dimitri from Paris, Mousse T and Shapeshifters and I was asked to play a closing set I decided it would be appropriate to concentrate on the more housy vibes of the Glitterbox spectrum.
 
Due to another booking, I missed hearing my heroes play the main room, however, I witnessed the last 15 minutes of Glitterbox resident Melvo Baptiste... and he had the place rocking!
 
It’s unfortunate I didn’t have a mic to record the crowd reaction: that would have certainly enhanced the listening back experience... my Dutchie crowd went wild!
 
I was supposed to play till 4am but the room was still so packed that the organisation asked me to continue playing... with so many gems left unplayed I was happy to oblige!
 
I wish to thank Glitterbox again for the trust of having me perform at such a fantastic night. And I can’t say this enough: a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful, crazy and loyal Amsterdam crowd that have supported me for so many years. I appreciate each and every one of you from the depths of my soul.
