i've seen a message
written in dirt
"everything is beautiful, and nothing hurt"
what good be the beauty of butterflies
when blinded by morning sun?
even in this squinting gaze
my eyes find the periphery
all i ever saw growing up
were skeletons drinking and throwing up
they were walking around and holding hands
turning on lights and ceiling fans
fighting over book in their hands

The thing is my mind works
