Room Zero is a two-man production team (temporarily dormant) comprising Marcs Fry and David Topple. It was formed with the intention of writing and recording melodic electronic music of no particular genre, though it's often been 'dance-orientated'. David’s also been active in film sound (mainly audio post-production, but occasionally recording as well), with two first places won in minor film festivals.

We've collaborated with singers for anything not intentionally instrumental, and lyric writing is left to the singer, as a consequence of a belief that singers perform better with lyrics they've written themselves. Our thanks go to the 2 singers on the Soundcloud tracks: Sorrel Meechan (Forgettable / Someone Like You) and Becca Richardson (Nightfall in Winter / Strangers On Trains).

Since the first experiments in music co-production we've created various material (about 2 hours of it, most of it yet to be edited and mixed), with the trademarks of interweaving parts, good tunes, and surprising changes of mood inspired by the trance breakdowns of that late-'90s genre's major artists. There's a certain complexity here that you don't get in most electronic music.

Please note: we've never competed in the 'loudness war' (it must have ended now anyway?), so you might need that volume control. We leave dynamics in our final mixes - no heavy compression and 'brick wall limiting' here.
