Exclusive: Benjamin Fröhlich - Club Fantasy (Alex Kassian's Inferno Dub)


Planet Sundae co-founder, Love On The Rocks mainstay and one half of Opal Sunn, Alex Kassian is involved in many projects regarding electronic music. However, in the past two years the Berlin based artist has put his musical focus on his solo-career and provided us with EPs and remixes on Parimda's initially mentioned Love On The Rocks or Pincyh & Friends. Now Alex makes his debut on the Live At Robert Johnson label with a remix for Permanent Vacation boss Benjamin Fröhlich. Latter's EP Club Fantasy kicked off the label's 2021 and now, with a hiatus of almost half a year, gets the remix treament from artists such as Perel, DJ City and Leipzig duo Peter Invasion and Gregor Habicht. Known for elongated pads in combination with a slightly speeded up (percussive) House bass line Alex chose his signature traits to approach Benjamin Fröhlich's track and create his own club fantasy. Nevertheless, Club Fantasy contains intriguing piano sequences as well as Acid bleeps, whose simple task is it to add a darker more clubby touch to the warm chords, which surely spread a Balearic vibe all through the almost ten minute lasting journey.

Benjamin Fröhlich's EP Club Fantasy (Remixes) will be released on Live At Robert Johnson on August 13th, 2021.

Premiering this New Hit by long time friend Lakehead today. Together with his buddy Peacy Peus they starting the new label Ciao Planet with a split release featuring the both of them.

Four fresh cuts recorded over the Covid summers of 2020-2021, fusing their vision of 90s inspired Techhouse: swingy drums, breaky grooves, ravey pads and chord stabs from outta space. The cool Russian label Sengiley adds another brick in the wall of its kaleidoscopical catalogue. Doing the honours, none other than Gianmaria Gamberini, DJ, producer, drummer, and co-founder of another cool imprint, the rising & shining Raibano Records.

With insightful appearances on Inflect, Bordello A Parigi, Non-Stop Rhythm, U’re Guay, and Raibano itself, GG manages to deliver a refreshing understanding of how influences can get together in order to deliver something new and inspiring. In his utility belt, Disco, House, Italo, Techno, and Trance assemble to become his vision of what a dance-floor soundtrack should be.

For his debut on Sengiley, Gian came up with “Amnesia Dreaming EP”, a four-track soirée filled with high stamina and gleaming brightness, as exemplified through “Age Of Libra”, the track we selected for our review/premiere.

The theme is undoubtedly devoted to triggering happy faces and stomping feet with its upbeat character and positive attitude. A frenzied bassline, sharp synth layers, frolic whistle-like interventions, and a pinch of good ol’ acid set the tone of our favourite track from the release. Kudos!
