An artist who understands groove, Nicola Gavino’s sound echoes vintage flavours with distinct funky and fresh rhythms. His summer has been a busy one, with performances at the likes of Kappa FuturFestival and his long-running residency at Turin’s Audiodrome Club, plus releases on Dennis Cruz and Eddy M’s MÜSE imprint, SOSA’s label COCO, and more. Now, as he steps out on Jamie Jones’ revered Hot Creations for the first time, the Italian talent puts his best foot forward across three peak-time house cuts inspired by the label boss himself.

“The main track was inspired by a video of Kappa's mainstage in 2022 recorded from a friend's phone. Jamie was playing this glitched edit of Sweet Dreams (which I only found more than a year later) which really blew my mind. I watched it so many times that I felt the need to make something myself, recreating and exaggerating that special vibe. The track being. chosen by Jamie himself for Hot Creations is more than a goal and an honour for me; it is about paying respect to a label and a DJ who always inspired me and which I look up to.” - Nicola Gavino

With its sharp synths, feel-good trumpets and deep driving bassline, the spirit of Chicago house is present in opener ‘Givin’ My Love’. Next, ‘Lazer Tool’ offers a more modern minimal sound, rich with percussion and distorted SFX. Closing out the EP, ‘Pump Up’ combines elements from the first two tracks with cutting percussive kicks, warping distorted vocals and a grooving hypnotic bass that’s destined for the dancefloor.

Fresh off his BBC Radio 1-backed ‘15 Seconds Of Fame’, he now adds another prestigious label to his roster and steps out on Hot Creations for the first time with ‘Red Alert’, unleashing a triple offering of high-energy rhythms. 

Both vintage and futuristic, ‘Red Alert’ is a punchy blend of electro and old-school house with cutting off-kilter additions. Fisher debuted “Ya Kidding” at the beginning of the Summer and it took a life of it’s own. It was perpetually in the top 10 for months, one of the most Shazamed tracks in Ibiza & UK through the festival season, took over multiple chart positions around the globe, and included an official video featuring an epic shoe-off, and became one of the biggest songs of 2017. 

With a track that strong as your first record, it was going to be a hard act to follow. Fortunately, Fisher’s sophomore release “Oi Oi” puts all those fears to rest. 

Leading off the EP is “Stop It”—the already infamous ‘roller coaster song’ that fans ask us about daily. The marriage of the track’s bassline and one sentence verse combine for an attention-grabbing single that raises the energy exponentially no matter where it’s played.

“Ya Didn’t” adds a funky bass bounce to a heavy synth stab, and a big buildup that cements Fisher’s reputation as a monster of the party.
