After teaming up with Sawlin to deliver a series of spacy “Texture” works, dubbed ‘Foreign Awake Pt.1 & Pt.2’, Subjected returns to Electric Deluxe this time in searing solo guise. Known for his thundering, no-holds-barred basement style, which until ‘Foreign Awake’ was kept purely to his cloistered Vault Series outlet, with ‘Dolor’ we see the industrial edges polished smooth in this rotund and rolling three-track EP. “Krupp” opens in typical rumbling Vault fashion that builds into a gargled mechanical reprieve and back again. On the B-side, “Dolor” applies Subjected’s rusted signature to a groovy subzero bassline and blue-note melody, the EP’s duly crowned peak-time lead. “Wute” then
concludes with the sort of venomous hypnotism followers of Electric Deluxe should be familiar with by now, albeit this one has a more scuffed and tarnished appeal. Then for the digital fans, “Zopiklona” presents a slightly cleaner, bleepy bonus track with one killer charged drum crescendo.

“Man Worships Power” is the first in a small series of joint releases between Enemy Records and Emmanuel’s ARTS Records. Like rare split EPs from record labels in the past, each label takes control of one side of the vinyl for a double-sided release. With high mutual admiration between both labels, it was inevitable that a project like this was bound to happen. For this special occasion, we offer a full-sleeve cover with amazing photography from Sander Meisner.

On the first release, label owners Dustin Zahn and Emmanuel each picked two of their favorite tracks from each other. “Bark Like a Dog…” has already received regular play from Truncate and “Cargo” has been a secret weapon among DJs such as Zahn and Rodhad for the better part of a year.

After much success of Darko Esser's Tripeo alias and label, he has decided to launch a new series to focus on the beauty of the artistic collaboration. For his first release he invites Jeroen Snik working under his more techno-centric alias Cadans, who is most well known for his Drum & Bass work as Icicle.
The moment 'Schmutz #1' unfolds, you can already tell there are two masterminds at work. The complexity of the stormy unfiltered pads that ebb and flow throughout the track integrate genially with the jogging baseline. Rather while 'Schmutz #2' takes a turn into a deeper atmosphere with dub-influenced chords, climbing slowly into scurrying percussions. 'Schmutz #3' may parallel to a techno carroll of the bells which mixes with a smooth, calming and ambient reverie.

The duo make their debut to Drumcode Limited with a heavy, two track release. The EP showcases a mix of their talents and influences to create a moody, dark techno groove. Maeve 09 is a special record. It welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, Baikal. Although the Dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. “Pelican’s Flight” reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait.

The title track “Pelican’s Flight” is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. A throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. The pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation; in short this is a bomb.

The B-side “All Forces Occur In Pairs” goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. Various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. This track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension…

The latest installment of the Monad series welcomes Yotam Avni into the fold, a Tel Aviv-based producer who exhibits all the technical finesse of a scene veteran, but also the fresh enthusiasm of an artist whose releases have all appeared within this decade. Avni possesses a special skill for traversing the spectrum of sounds from soulful to steely without ever giving precedence to one mode or another, making him a natural to test his skills through the Monad project.
Avni’s contribution to this series begins in a deceptively simple manner, luring listeners in with familiarity before flourishing into a much more complex and subtle set of stimuli. The lushly reverberating key stabs and down-stepping melody on the opening “Tinofet” glow with a classic rave energy, yet the carefully tailored percussive samples are unmistakably modern. From there, things take a more unexpected turn: “Rusha” begins with the sound of creaking springs and an unedited surface noise that makes us feel as if we are audio voyeurs within someone’s private living space. The spongy, throbbing percussive shuffle that follows adds to this tension by giving us a feeling that maybe we aren’t alone in this space, a feeling that intensifies with each subsequent added shake or rattle. Other well-timed elements, like gong hits and a frantically bowed synthetic violin, give this one a truly appealing sense of adventurism.
The following “Marva Version” is very much the linchpin piece of the record. It uses a compelling, straight- ahead bass pulse and hi-hat hiss as the veneer for a sound construction built of hypnotic singing bowls, woodwinds, and a seductive, seemingly improvisational siren vocal that both caresses and challenges listeners’ sensibilities. There is a highly dynamic give-and-take between acidic signals and noisy swells on one side and the more free-floating, extemporized instrumentation on the other, which provides a stunning exemplar of dance music in which archaic mysteries still burn brightly in the imagination.
The shorter, drum-less reprise of “Marva” is every bit as interesting, feeling like a cross between the singing bowl trance of Klaus Wiese and the chattering ingenuity of a vocalist like Sainkho Namtchylak. It’s a daring piece even within the context of the Monad release series, since it is completely devoid of electronic synthesis, and yet is rich with all the exploratory, self-analytical impulses that lie at the heart of the best electronic music.

After 2 revered releases since the turn of the year, Weekend Circuit return, welcoming Alfredo Mazzilli for his first EP on the imprint. Versatile in sound and challenging in his approach, Alfredo’s ‘Invisible Entity’ EP masterfully pushes ambitious ideas with great vigor to an international audience ever more ready to listen.

With artists such as Donato Dozzy, Aphex Twin, Sandwell District, Dino Sabatini and Substance making up a strong part of his most notable influencers, Alfredo favours the ambient & deep depths of the dark side of techno.
Enigmatic and unrestricted, Side A starts with Alfredo's original "Invisible Entity". A steadily unfolding juggernaut, the emerging energy soon engulfs the entirety of the track, percussian transcending the gloaming synth sound throughout.

Zadig's beckoning bass and kick drum driven remix will see sonic nods across the club with this four-on-the-floor gristle. "Statiform Region" is techno's answer to a cinematic interlude. A testament to Alfredo's lilting synth ability.

"No Way Out" kicks off the B side, with a algorithmic tinkering of sonic vs low hits and stabs. Rounding up, Echologist does what Echologist does best; a scattershot of intertwined and precarious techno sound, spliced with industrialised power.

A creative, radical, and emotionally skittering 13th release from Weekend Circuit, which will be released in stores worldwide on 25th July 2016.

As one half of Spanish duo, Exium, Héctor Sandoval’s Tensal project showcases the rougher side of the trademark Spanish sound. Strictly one for the peak time dance floor, Tensal combines the the brute force of his Moog together with the typically PoleGroup metallic shots. 4 cuts to both hypnotise and destroy your mind.
