For me George Best was the greatest player that ever lived, but suffered from being better at what he did than everybody else. 
At one time in my life I think I was within an inch of becoming an alcoholic and yes at the time it solved all my problems. I was rescued by a beautiful women but unfortunately George was not.
He was one of my greatest heroes and I spent a large amount of my early years trying to emulate some of his football skills. I was given the opportunity to meet him on two occasions and he was a really nice genuine man and I was really upset when he died.
My brother Brian and me completed this recording in one afternoon and he came up with the fantastic bass line, it was always our intention to develop it and take it further.

Best Of Both Worlds

I spent my youth trying to become the next George Best but by the late 70s it was clear that I did not have the talent required and because of my single mindedness about this pursuit I think my eldest brother Brian was absolutely shocked when he received 3 songs written and performed by me on a cassette tape in the post.

This was the start of "Root Division" and without my two brothers’ talent and input it would not have existed. In addition to myself, Terry Reeves, my two brothers Brian Reeves and Gary Reeves, John Palmer (a bass player from my brothers' previous bands) he was a very encouraging influence on every thing I wrote and I owe him a lot. I would like every body to know that we had such a good time through out the existence of the band and I don’t remember a time when we were not laughing at one time or another.As there are only two of us left the band will no longer be producing anymore music so this is a celebration of Root Division’s beginning to end. I hope you enjoy.
