This journey of discovery is a lifelong one, and we have been blessed lately at the DTW headquarters, to be receiving a good flow of beautiful music from talented cats all over the world.
From Cali, to London, to Paris, we’ve got the corners covered. Our featured artists span a variety of genres, representing that essential diversity at Darker Than Wax. While standard formulas are important for an artist’s identity – these guys prove that the only constant is change, and unearthing fresh, new sounds while on the experimental journey.

The set of exclusive artworks will showcase a specific set of palette, reflecting shapes, moods and atmospheres – perfectly complimenting the music in each feature.

We travel across to Moscow, where a certain artist by the name of Garimastah resides.
Very little is known of this producer, but we do know that he has been around for a minute, and belongs to the generation of beatmakers who keep the analogue spirit alive. His Natural Sequence project was the one which caught our ears in the 1st place, which also features the likes of Bryon The Aquarius, Waju and DistantStarr. His music harks back to that neo-soul vibe, peppered with warm organic synths and basslines, providing a colourful contrast to the icy weather of Moscow.
With great pleasure, we present three downtempo tracks which encapsulate the spirit of his musical approach and hopefully, attracting a wider audience for this talented artist.

With the worldwide success of our Soulection Compilation Volume One which featured some of the most promising producers of our generation two years ago in January 2011, it was essential to create volume two. It's amazing to reflect on our progression and how far we've come. Here we are 27 releases later with our first official record! It has almost been a year since we started to compile this project. Since day one we've known that we would get to this very point.

The Time in Between captures genre-bending compositions from creative an entire year, this compilation delivers a timeless journey through future bass, boom bap, glitchy uptempo soulful melodies and then some. Soulection releases the Time in Between putting a time stamp on the unique musical epoch that is 2013. By serving up genre-vague and undefinable sounds to the people first, the label maintains and reinforces the relevance and need for this timeless sound.

These specific artists are all Soulection affiliated and we feel that every track on here has a "timeless' feel to it. In fact, we feel that this record is one that you can play years and years down the line and still get that original feeling of when you first heard it. There tracks have no expiration date; styles that have no flow. This record was created and compiled to change your perspective on music and the future of where we are headed.
