On March 14th, our collective hosted a virtual room at COMMON MULTIVERSE INITIATIVE - a week-long interactive festival curated by Currents.

Halfway around the world from us in Istanbul, @fosilbass has been making an international name for himself in the underground bass music community. He specializes in aggressive breakbeats that have raided clubs and radio stations over the last few years. This set touches on that, featuring plenty of dancefloor firepower and experimental moments.

Istanbul’s dearest Badmash is 5 years old! To celebrate this, they released a compilation album “5 years of Badmash”, involving 23 local and foreign artists, late January. And today, to celebrate this moment with the Badmash collective and longtime listeners, we are having a BADMASH takeover on Root.

Brootworth is a Vienna-based multi-genre producer and artist. His latest 4-track EP, forthcoming on his label ghosttown, is a series of cybernetic dancefloor experiments that alternate between dismantled jungle and grime-infused syncopation. His sets are known to be dark and deconstructed, a journey through broken textures of fluttering kicks, warped vocal chops and polyrhythmic breaks.
With his recent live-sets, he shifts into more abstract and harsh sounds, exploring modes of fragmentation, alienation and dissolution of the bodily expression through digital distortions.
