As one of the co-founders of Club Détour and part of the Les Chats Noirs collective, Louis Vogue is carving out an undeniable position for himself. Bound for prominence through standout performances within the thriving Brussels (queer) scene, this local club kid made name as a bold DJ unafraid of making a statement on the dance floor. He describes his sets as violently happy, often blending the lines between nineties rave culture and modern dance music. He is currently represented by C12, a pluridisciplinary space where art & clubbing collide.

a slow, deep, musical tribute to my experience of playing through final fantasy 14 online <3

i started playing final fantasy 14 online (ff14) around the time i was diagnosed with a life-changing illness. i was living at my mom’s in a city i’m not very fond of with a new, life-changing, potentially life-destroying diagnosis. this game brought me such desperately needed escape. playing through its story, i felt a part of something special and inspiring. i truly think ff14 has some of the best fantasy storytelling out there, including in competition with books, tv, movies, and so on. it’s also so beautiful visually and sonically and has so many important, uplifting messages. 

this mix is a tribute to ff14 soundtracks and other music i was listening to a lot during my depressing experience of 2021-2022, where i couldn’t do much other than distract myself from what i was going through. it’s the second (third?) mix in a series of ambient mixes i’ve made, with the prior being a tribute to the video game world of guild wars. cynn’s lullaby as i go by cynn both on guild wars and ff14. 

i really can’t recommend ff14 enough, although maybe play it when you are in a less busy time as there are hundreds of hours of story to play through and it is SO GOOD it can be hard to log off. it’s a massively multiplayer online role playing game, but you can basically play through it on your own and at your own pace. if you’ve played ff14 or end up playing it, please get in contact so we can screech about how iconic, and for me - life changing, its story is.

cynn's lullaby 2 (ff14 tribute)

Composer, percussionist and multidisciplinary artist @rrucculla is undoubtedly one of the most eclectic projects to emerge from Spain in recent times, combining abstraction, plasticity and experimentation with an uncommon mastery.

Since her first impact on the electronic "headz" scene with SHuSH [Sound Sketches, 2018], the Basque producer has been carefully distilling her new album Zeru Freq., which will be released on Barcelona’s Lapsus record label. The album is wide-ranging, interweaving sound and art that transports the listener into an immersive universe.

Zeru Freq. envelops us in a Euskadi environment, guiding us through an open-air museum, containing a collection of eleven sound productions that fuse nature, landscapes and the local climate. This epic musical journey incorporates organic frequencies painted in Technicolor, in which hyper-realistic synthesizer textures merge with acoustic instruments, resulting in an atmospheric ambient sound that warps our perceptions of reality.

At a sonic level the unmistakable stamp of RRUCCULLA is omnipresent, but this time she climbs to even higher plains. Zeru Freq. explores an expanded aural palette, traversing the borders of strictly electronic music, while laying foundations for a new audio discourse. Throughout its eleven tracks, RRUCCULLA embraces the broadest spectrum of contemporary music, flirting with avant-garde electronica at will, without succumbing to labels or pigeonholing.

Zeru Freq. is the sound of shapes; figures and strokes, it is a work that mutates with each passing moment, until the last note is heard.

Psychedelia, orientalism and science fiction connected through a single landscape, the badlands. Lands of strange mountainous shapes, difficult to cultivate and to inhabit that have served as scenery and inspiration for numerous fictions for their beauty where the wind and the earth occupy everything. Landscapes far from the human being represented as secret, fantastic or dystopian places that have been used as a metaphor for the narrative represented and the characters that inhabit it.
