Strøm Mixx 029 - KUCHULU

Allergy Season alum Love Letters and label boss Physical Therapy team up to tackle new territory on Hunk. In two distinct versions, the duo explore prismatic soundscapes and gut-rattling bass.

Echoing across 13 minutes, the ‘Ouroboros Mix’ is an epic of dark dub in half-time. Layers of heady sound build and decay through the song’s several movements, while ballooning delays ricochet across syrup-thick low end. It’s a winding trip, weaving tension and release.

The pair buff things up for the ‘Herculean Mix,’ a stripped back techno interpretation, which builds Hunk’s heavy bass lines from squelch to squall. The mind-bending sound palette is glued to a breakneck 606 drum machine for a peak time potency.

Physical Therapy & Love Letters - Hunk (Herculean Mix)

As a musician with a background in experimental music and a former jazz drummer, Itaho started on the rave scene and in underground circles.
Sensitive to the “plasticity” of sound, she offers a vast but always percussive musical universe. Now a member of the Bienvenue au Club collective, she collaborates with a number of platforms, including the “Tu mixes bien... pour une fille” (You mix well... for a girl), a campaign to raise the profile of women in electronic music.

ITAHO - Curation Phare Citadelle [24.10.2023]

Miri Malek is an Iranian-Scottish producer/DJ & live artist. They are a member of Exude, a party and event collective, as well as founder of Dwam, a multidisclipinary experimental art platform - both of which are Berlin-based. 

This end-of-year mix is a distinctive blend of their musical gravitations at the moment - breakbeat, experimental bass, grime & dubstep, filled with extended blends, organic textures & hypnotic melodies, cruising at the 140 - 150 bpm range.
