Gift of Gab was most definitely a big part of my life's soundtrack since high school. I might have seen Blackalicious in concert more often than any other group. He was one of the most brilliant emcees I've ever heard, and from all accounts was just a great human. Sending love out to his family and friends. This is just a short tribute mix with a few favorite tracks and a few samples that give me that feeling that became part of the legendary music he and Chief Xcel made together. RIP.

Volume 5 of my "Real Rap" series features the late J Dilla, arguably one of the top Rap Producers ever (also a very talented MC). The mix begins with one of his Instrumentals mixed with a classic gansta rap song by Dr. Dre. and ends with a song from Dillas Group "Slum Village"-- you might recognize it as it was sampled by Chance the Rapper.
